Hello all I'm new to IH8MUD. I am also new owner of a 100 series. I just picked up a sweet 2000 LX470 with 235,000. Yet I am not unfamiliar with Land cruisers altogether. As I previously had a 60 series with all the rust. Yet it gave me the forever itch to own another cruiser someday. By my amazement it has everything on the truck working. Even the AHC working as intended. The only caviate is it has lived in Minnesota its entire life. There are a few little items that will need to be addressed. But nothing I know you all won't be able to help me navigate through.

welcome and I am very interested to hear if your new rig will warm up in that crazy cold -30 degree weather you are about to have.

Man, Minnesota is beautiful. But I'm just too much of a wimp to deal with that cold.

Let's see some pictures! :flipoff2:

I will get some pics up soon. Days like this I'm so astounded my rig starts every morning. I really should think about a block heater next year.

Yeah.... I wore a Tshirt and shorts today, high of 72 ;)

Welcome to mud!

You all are making me really contemplate why I live in such a place.

I always wonder why people live where it's cold and wet.... granted it gets hot in the summer here (110+), but I don't have to shovel heat and everywhere has ice cold AC ;) Plus, I keep my raw steel for all my projects on a rack in the back yard... if that's not proof of a dry climate, idk what is

Nice work! Was it that one on Craigslist, West Metro, looking at the pics, appeared to be Rockford HS?

That one was on good shape, from the pictures. The Pearl White seems to hold up really well.

MN CZ this one was on CL for a few months only cause it had no front bumper from a deer run in. Thing is I went to the dealer that had it and it had 43 service records and timing belt was replaced. After seeing that I said you got yourself a deal.

Cool, great to hear. I'm assuming that's Wayzata Lexus? Pricey, but I have had good luck there with two cars. And yeah, remembering the price on your LX, knowing a recent TB job was done, yeah, that's a good deal.

Congrats to you on your rig, you're gonna love it! See ya around the forum dude!

Taken from my potatoe camera on the phone. Yes it is very dirty and no it won't get a bath till we see temps at least in double digits again!o_O

Hey MN470, how has the truck and nicer weather been treating you? Any more recent pics or work you've done? Just curious, great to hear from someone else in Minnesota.

Thanks for asking MN CZ I haven't been able to get to it as much I would like. But I did get a steering column with key, installed that. I got a new fuel filter and oil filter just haven't had time. I found out it only has like 192000 miles one it which is cool. This truck hasn't started in three years wonder if it will?

Looks good; most would disagree, but I like the gold emblem on your grill.

Good luck, let us know how it goes for the first crank in three years!

Hey fellow MN’s! Just came across this discussion. I remember seeing that deer to front bumper rig posted on CL and thinkin it was a good deal, sure was by the sound of it, nice work👍.
