Just want to know if $116 extra of road hazard warranty is worth paying? Curious how many of us who took on this when changing new tires. I rarely had problems with tires, but again, that's why this is called insurance...

The rig is primarily used in urban and suburban area or interstate highway. Occasionally dirt roads or sand. No rock crawling or river crossing or construction sites.

As someone that generally has a strong aversion to "extended warranties", "road hazard" coverage has generally paid for itself on my vehicles.

For some reason I'm reminded of this video:

I bought it with mine through 4 wheel parts because their warranty covered trail damage and punctures for 3 years. I planned on light use for the first year and now am starting to push it and I know it will come into play when I tear open that sidewall one of these trips.

I usually end up getting 2 tires replaced under the Discount Tire road hazard warranty. So it's definitely worth it for my truck, but I don't bother for our cars.

Their warranty states they will replace only if not repairable.
Also, what's the typical coverage by Michelin?

"Not repairable" is essentially any damage to the sidewall. Anything that Michelin may offer, would relate to the guaranteed mileage, the requirements of which are useless and will make you angry when trying to use it.

Just my little story. I had some dirt bag confuse my rig with someone he had a beef with and he slashed two of my fairly new BFG's. I went to American Tire Depot, where I bought the tires. Sales guy asked if I'd bought the extended warranty. I said no. He was so cool, he winked and asked me if I wanted to buy it now. I was shocked , but I bought the warranty and they replaced the two tires as "covered by the warranty". I don't think that stuff happens too often.

Your car insurance would have covered it.

I never buy Road Hazard warranty, they will only cover the damaged tire, and if the tires are worn and they have to replace the bad tire they are going to make you buy the other three tires because of one larger (over diameter) tire.

Flat repair is $20.

Don't bother with the warranty. It won't cover wear.
