Installed a new ARB bumper on my 60 this week. Here are a couple pics. I know some like the old style and some like the new. Very easy to put on and really like the look. No winch yet but will be looking for one at some point. Rides nice on the front with the OME medium front heavy rear springs.
check out this thread and you can see pics that compare the old to new. the older one is a bit taller and more straight across I think. it also sticks out a bit less than the new one because of the way it mounts. the new one is a bit lower profile and more angled around the front - creates a different look.
Ordered mine last night via 4WPW's. On sale + free shipping!
A BIG thanks to you for settling my wife's apprehensions...good photos of what we are going for.
that's a really clean looking rig. do you have any ideas on the level of tint you are running on the windows? I really like the darker tint but it is hard to gauge when just looking at a sample.
Just realized a few things today upon getting mine in the mail...
1. The box is HUGE, and WAY over packaged. I'm not going to complain about that though. It only filled less than half of the box. I've now got a mini dumpster in the front driveway until garbage day.
2. The d-ring points are well reinforced. Much better than what I was expecting.
3. The winch is "clocked", and the base is mounted forward.
4. There is an overwhelming sense of quality construction with this bumper...even Mrs Dirty commented on the quality.
5. The BIG bummer for me is that I cannot run an aluminum hawse fairlead with this bumper. Gotta run a simple roller fairlead. (EDIT: You can run a regular aluminum fairlead, but you will need different bottom hex bolts to get them to thread. You can also get a special "offset" alu fairlead as discussed in the recent winch to fairlead angle thread - this is the path I will take with this).
6. Another bummer is that you cannot run PIAA "light locks" in the light tabs.
I think it'll depend on how you mount it really...if you mount it high (as for a 2" body lift) the, indeed it'd be better clearance since it'll be higher. Unfortunately the frame is still in the same spot, and becomes a limiting factor at that point!
