@HK Offroad - Great inputs - thank you for jumping in!

What does the complete setup weigh?

Adjustable height - super cool, good to know.

DS opening - I hadn't thought of that, good point.

Welcome to Mud....:)

Gotta say, very impressed with the builder’s outreach and forthright attitude. Great design and a healthy dialogue.
I am counting my Pennys to see if one of these is in the cards for me…anyone local to Oregon want to buy my RIG’d carrier 😂?
Good luck @HK Offroad
I‘ll be in touch.

Figure I should post some updates as we've been working on this for almost 10 straight days now.

Finished up the spring loaded pin which locks the hatch in 4 different locations.

Designed a Jerry can mount which can be mounted flat or outward.
Designed a rotopax mount which can be mounted flat or outward.
Designed an axe and shovel mount/molle panel.
Designed and installed a locking key so the carrier can be locked when closed.
Next, we're waiting on the 5-gallon propane tank to arrive and will design a mount for that along with a cargo rack which can be mounted above the tire.
Final step is to design the fold down table which mounts behind the swing out. That should take care of all the accessory's and their all bolt on.

So far, everything is nicely tucked away and not sticking out.

Will get a final video uploaded after paint and post here soon as it's complete.

Thanks for following.

Looks great!

I am far from a professional fab shop, I don’t have access to the tools it looks like you have..

But I do have some experience in swing outs and breaking s***.

What is the distance from the top of cross member to bottom of swing out? See red in picture for reference. It looks like a foot.

That’s ALOT of room for flex. I built a very similar setup out of 3/8 that sits frame height at the base and it still moves some.

Why not move the spindle down to bumper height? Sure it makes the cut on the plastic of the bumper a little more complex, but this isn’t an issue as it’s plastic. (At least not that I’m aware of).

Pic for reference.

Just my $0.02 of constructive criticism.

The only way to answer this question is to upload a video. I think I understood what you're saying so I hope my video reply makes sense.

Regarding not breaking things, we break test everything so you can't break it.

@HK Offroad
I‘m really liking what you’re putting out for our GX’s.
Well thought-out, and stout as hell.
Once you get into production, we will talk.
