Stumbled across these guys, they’re teasing a new bolt on rear swing out, looks very cool!

Curious why they would not put it on the other side to swing with the door... Seems quite obtrusive on the left.

Comment from company is they’ll have option for either

Looks like someone's finally getting around to building this.....bookmarked that eons ago, remembered it the second I saw this thread.

Looks promising. Interested to see the price point at which it launches. Hopefully not too close to the cost of a full blown bumper as that would make it difficult to justify.

They just dropped for sale on their website. ~$1000.

Was hoping it was closer to $500. I really just wanted a way to mount a couple Jerry cans without an entire rear bumper setup. Already have a JW tire carrier.

1000 seems close to right

$1000? Does it even come with the tire swing?

Doesn't seem too bad. I can't imaging making that for less than $1000 of my own labor. Best tire swingout I have seen yet. Still won't buy one, my tire fits just fine in the normal spare location!

Yeah it’s unique, that’s for sure.
Agree with you on the cost of manufacturing, especially with materials going up as rapidly as they are.
I‘ll be interested to see how the bumper fascia looks once it’s put back in place…

Same.......the effort to measure/fab/fix/re-measure/fab........fine-tune and get it functioning "just right" is lost on most.

I like this design a bunch......best of luck to the group making it.

I like it a lot too but I think the tire is just a tad too high up and blocks more of the rear window then it needs to. Other than that it looks awesome and is probably a great option that I’ll have to add to my list of possibilities for when it comes time

Too high, totally agree.

This one looks great......

Theirs....you can see that the tire mount is obviously a lot higher than the horizontal bar whereas the photo above shows the tire mount a lot closer to the bar.

Oh wow I did not see that. I retract my previous statement. That’s horrendous! This is what You get from Jeep fabricators I suppose. Derp.

Thank you all for your feedback which will help us meet the needs of the GX Community.
A few notes about us:
We were founded May 15, 2015 with a hidden winch mount and spread our wings from there.
We are known for heavy duty armor and recovery parts.
We are rock crawler in Southern California, adopt-a-trail volunteers and participate in emergency recovery situations.
All our products are over-kill and we are proud of that.
We communicate with every buyer which is rare these days.

The Tire Carrier Updates:
-We uploaded the video yesterday as an early introduction in its bare form. Further updates will follow with it mounted with the bumper fascia installed.

-The location of the tire is height adjustable so owner can mount it as high or as low the like.

-Swing out auto stop: We ordered a spring-loaded push pin which will be mounted to the spindle and automatically stop the swing out around 90 degrees from vehicle. Owner can then unlock the pin and relock the swing out further open as they desire. That mechanism is expected to arrive this afternoon.

-Pricing of all parts we produce is based on cost of material and labor hours to produce in the shop. $995 for this kit is too cheap actually but we're going to try and stick with that for the first ten built.

-This is a complete kit with swing out and both frame mounting brackets.

-It opens to driver side so the carrier can be used at camp such as table or kitchen etc. Not sure why anyone would want it to open with the hatch and not be put to good use. But hey, it's your vehicle :) so we can make it mount to passenger side as well.

-Anything mounted to a steel frame, we will not mount to body on any vehicle.

-So far I have learned a high lift jack mount is not necessary but rotopax, jerry cans and fold down tables are. Any other info you an provide, constructive criticism is welcome and needed. I'm too scarred from weld burns to have any feelings. Good solid offroad parts aren't built by feelings anyway, it's what the community needs when out in the backwoods.

-Upcoming for the GX: Rock Sliders with step indentations, hidden winch mount with shackle tabs, full steel front recessed winch bumper.

Have a blessed weekend all and please keep the comments coming. Don't shy away now that the builder has posted, which is what usually happens.
