Finally found time this weekend to also install my new BIOR rear bumper.

I went with Bump it Off-Road (BIOR) and really like the quality and price of this bumper. I was able to get all the bells and whistles..

With the built in trailer receiver, I had to cut a space in the cross member for the receiver. Pretty easy, never have used a cutter wheel before.

Also I re-installed the hook, to help protect my tail pipe. Might go to Midas and have them bend the tail pipe up just a touch.

Sweet! Like the little basket at (for fuel cans?) the bottom of the steps. Thats a nice platform to step on/off when going up/down the ladder too.

Does this come with the saftey chains eyes for trailer receiver by chance?

I'll trade you a frog and bag of marbles. Will even throw in a decoder ring.

Mine is on order. Can't wait.. hope mine looks as good as yours.

Yep the basket is for two fuel cans. Also yes has the eye lets for the chains.

keeping the OME 860s? bumper looks good.

Great looking bumper!
It looks like the design is very similar to Slee. At first blush it seems like Christo may use a more robust hinge pin design, but it's hard to tell from the pics. Is there a mechanism to lock the swing arms open somehow? Is the trailer receiver tow-rated and, if so, what's the rating?

Nice bumper!
Mike does nice work.
BTW, ever think about a contrasting color instead of black??
Everyone always does black.
Not saying it doesn't look good, it does, but it's sooo ME TOO.
Just a thought, not a knock. I still like!:D

The swing outs have struts, so they swing on their own and stay open. I think they are 200 pound rated. You gotta hold on to the spare tire when you open it or you could knock somebody over. Bringing it back is butter.

I am not sure on the receiver rating but the same bolt holes to the frame, with 2 additional are used. So I am guessing it has an equivalent or higher rating to what comes with the truck.

Contrasting colors look great, but I think black holds up to the trail elements better in the long run.:steer:

Guarantee it's not tow rated, to expensive and too much liability for the manufacturer. I'm sure it will hold up just fine.

Best looking rear bumper IMHO

You know what they say about imitation......

I sure wish Christo would design a better jerry can rack for his rear bumper...
(how many times I gotta beg Slee??)

Black does contrast against gray/silver. Black is easy to touch up. I have an orange framed camper that I'll never get paint to match on.

Looks great Chris, can't wait to check it out in Ouray!

Mine is finished being built and is at the powder coaters right now. Very similar to yours but on the DS i just have the can carrier. Mike should have it shipped pretty soon.

For the tail pipe, i removed my resonator and welded on a piece of straight exhaust tubing with a down turn on it. The exhaust sounds much more V8 like but is still very quiet, even with DT headers.

Also the hitch, as well as most offroad bumper hitches, is not rated. Only ones i can think of are the ARB and Kaymar. Having a hitch design rated is very expensive and out of the budget for most shops.

Pretty funny that we both had FJs, and 80s, and now we both own a 2001 River Rock Green Mica LC.

Could i ask a favor? Do you mind getting a shot of the under side of the bumper near the hitch? And possibly one facing towards the rear crossmember, like from the axles point of view. I will be welding in some plates to enclose the part of the rear crossmember that is cut out and maybe weld in a brace on the backside of the crossmember as well.

Roger that. Agreed.
But as I noted, everybody and their dead pets does black.

I don't know how this would be possible as the bottom of the BIOR hitch is at the very bottom of that cut crossmember. I'd like to see what you do cuz i wouldn't mind making mine a little more reinforced.

Do you honestly see that many 100s with black steel bumpers in person? Who cares what others over the Internet are doing. I rather do what works and looks good than going out of my way just look different from people I will never see or meet. Usually the guy who trys the hardest to be different end up making their truck look worse in my opinion (aftermarket wheels, hood mounted lights, white bumpers, green or red painted parts, etc....)
