I might be crazy. I have been called crazy, after I purchased this FJ55. My wife, and kids think I am nuts. My mom, and dad think I am nuts. But they have never understood my love of four-wheel drive vehicles. I wanted another Land Cruiser, my last one was a 1982 FJ40, that I loved, but my wife made me sell it. Now, I have another Land Cruiser, that she knows is my project vehicle, and after being married for 13 years, she can accept it. I am attempting to post a few pictures. Let me know what you think, your honest opinion. I am planning to replace both front fenders, possibly the hood, and maybe a door...door would be the least likely replacement. She has a 2F engine, I believe a 74 model, and she will turn over. But, I want to get a good mechanic working on it. I am not a mechanic. I can do some body work, and my father is a former body shop owner, retired. There are a few dents in the roof, that can be pushed out, body rust, and a few deeper rust spots. The interior will be redone also. An overall bust my but redo, that will take time, and some money. Thanks for ANY input guys.:flipoff2:

Could not upload each image, gonna try to post a link to my face book, Land Cruiser Section. Hope this works.|Vincent Bell's Photos - Project Land Cruiser | Facebook:bang:

More power to ya! My pig is a 73 and I am in the middle of restoring it. Well, I guess I am closing in on the end of the resto.

Join us over in the the 55 section and you'll get lots of motivation and help!

Congrats on the pig! Welcome to the sty!

Here Piggy Piggy Piggy!

My Pig had more rust than yours. Are you going for a resto or a trail rig? I went trail rig so I mainly needed 2 big sheets of 16 ga, a welder and a bunch of grinding wheels.

Have fun!

Vincent good to see your back at it. Pig looks good. 2f looks like a 79 or later. Has the holes for power steering and a gear reduction starter if I can see correctly.

Nice find.

Now get your dues in and start coming to some events. I see a HAMON in your future.

What's the story on it. How much?

I have been eyeing it near my house for over seven years. I even stopped by the guys house the day he purchased it, and tried to talk him out of it. She was in much better shape that day. He drove the Pig for about 4 years, the parked it behind his house. I kept trying to get her, but no deal. His wife goes to church with me, and I mentioned to her, that that her husbands Pig was wasting away out in the open, and all alone. Next thing I know, I get a telephone call, and he wants me to come by. So I stop, and starting talking with him about me giving his pig a new home. One thing lead to another, and after $800 I took her home. I also got an older winch, and a roof rack..nice roof rack, plus as set of rims. She will turn over, I wanted to clean out the fuel tank first. Throttle cable is off, pretty easy fix, clutch needs work, along with the normal brakes, hubs, etc. First thing is getting her running. Then on the the body work. I want to restore her with in reason to the original. But, I never have a vehicle I can not drive off road, and not worry about, so an everyday driver, along with off road capability is a must. So I have quite a few ideas, at least to start. Thanks for the comments guys, and keep them coming.

Let me know if you need any parts I have a bunch. Including 55 parts. SOme of them are even free. SInce they were given to me by a 55 adict that wanted to spread the karma.

That is great. I will post a list, just let me know. I will need both front fenders, and possibly a hood. Front "valance" not sure if that is the correct term, half asleep. But it is the piece of metal just above the bumper below the grill. Rear Seat heater, seat belts, door panels, rear seat or I will have someone strip it, replace foam, and recover. Not sure what engine parts I may need. The engine is pretty intact, but gonna get my mechanic:wrench: to get her running. I am most likly missing items right now. But will post others as I come across. Also look over the photos, if you see something I need, please let me know. Thanks!!

both front fenders - nearly impossible to find - how bad are yours?
possibly a hood - not too hard to find
front "valance" - not too hard to find
Rear Seat heater - easy to find
seat belts - not too hard
door panels - I think someone in the 55 forum was looking at having these made - or take yours to an upholstery shop. I would just find some backing material and cut new ones
rear seat or I will have someone strip it, replace foam, and recover - have someone fix yours

I have a front valance. Might also have seat belts. Depending on what you want.
