Hi there, I have a new cylinder head project. It is gonna be performance cams from CamTech and GTR valve springs and 3mm bigger intake and exhaust valves from Ferrea. Also, a Haltech Platinum Sprint 500 and a 3.5 inch throttle body.
The car already has these things: custom long tube headers and air filter intake. Boarding and polishing for the cylinder head and the intake manifold also 1mm over shaved the cylinder head. Centerforce clutch and over shaved 1mm to the flywheel, electric fan. this is day #1 some pics

every day I will try to finish something with it and I keep you tuned guys :)

day#2
uninstalling the head it self was easy and fun, but the things around the head were difficult such as all the wiring and the intake manifold, header, etc. they pest me off Lol. here is some pics about what I have done.

ready to be taken to the machine shop

what is the aim of this how much extra horsepower are you after?

since most of us here are diesel heaads.

where are you residing please fill in your details so we know.
yah because that there is no replays at all!
the horsepower will be around 270 on wheel. friends of mine have the parts plus 103mm CB pistons and and they got 305 hp on wheel. 1FZ-FE rock man!

Its cool to work over the N.A motor Any reason why you didn't supercharge or turbo the motor

Oh wow there is another 4.5 owner here,Clints on the job :D

I was going to ask the same thing actually, why force feed it?

If he go for turbo, he might need to clean his air-filter every day. Turbo will create mini sandstorm inside the air-intake system when he goes to the desert. :D

Moreover, the price of petrol as well as diesel is cheap!

Petrol costs 0.16EURO/litre

The registered plate and gas engine show that he is from ME.:D

yes Saudi Arabia :steer:

well, both are good and better on horsepower but the reason why I didn't Turbo or supercharge it is the weather in Summer is extremely hot:o the engine will over heat while sand dune then I have to stop for cooling which I don't like. Also the maintenance :wrench: kind of difficult.

in Saudi it is really rare to see 70 series with diesel engine all of them have the 1FZ-FE 4.5l or the new V6 4.0l.

why force feed it?:D just to have some fun:hhmm:

yes you are right about the turbo. the gas over here the 95OC 17 cent/liter the diesel is cheaper.

.

It was meant to be "why not force feed it" .Yes I hear the diesels are rare over there. What about the new V8 diesel(damn, its nearly 6 years old already)?

Lol got it:D also never have them with the new V8 diesel, yep time goes so fast!

interesting you choose the big oil filter ..

Well, I think it is better for the engine.

The project should be done this week but I had issue with the GTR valve springs. In general, to install them you have to drill them from the inside to fit them and this was fine. The problem was because the camshaft lift and duration is bigger and the valves springs are taller a little bit therefor, the camshaft wont be able to make a complete rotation :bang: the valve springs compressed them all the way down then there was no way to go farther :hhmm:
I think I will go with just a new original valve springs or maybe a 2J valve springs. Don't know :meh: by the way the GTR valve springs in fact are for the engine RB26 and they worked fine with some people over here but not me

Here is a pic of the cylinder head after installing 3mm Ferrea Valves

you say that running forced induction will create extra heat for the engine, thats a given.. but in my experience increasing the compression of an engine etc increases heat aswell?

fkn sweet project btw

Hay guys!

I was in my hibernation Lol we had some freezing cold days so I couldn't do any work on the truck. Also I'm waiting for the manifold intake to be done by the machine shop.

clean work. That will be a fun truck with 300HP.

I hope so, thanks man!

any up date?

soon will be some up dates.

Yes you are right, but I'm not increasing the compression too much. It is just 1mm over shaved. Also, I was comparing the heat with turbo or supercharge.
