WOT = waste of time.
My apologies toddD... My vomit comment was out of line... Voting for a paint scheme on YOUR truck just seemed silly, however this thread has brought up a plethora of paint scheme options and pros and cons of different paints...it seems you're well on your way to a well thought out resolution. Cant wait to see what you come up with.
Mickeyt: well said and well deserved... (embarrased). Dont think i need any more larry david lessons....![]()
Any idea what color is on that 3rd rig? Looks good.
I like the split look, lower linex'd (where you need it anyway) upper oem.3rd Color could be any combo of Flat black with Satin or flat clear coat.
I am on the fence on my own rig to go all flat black Line-X, or bottom half Line-X and top half OEM grey.
I agree with Walking Eagle. Eliminate all the options that really are not viable. I mean, the Ivan Stewart paint is awesome, but how many of us can actually pull that off in our garage, or for any sort of budget?
Cheers
Doug
The original Green is nice and well in the running. If I paint a color other than 6M1 I'll probably paint the areas inside the doors and as much under the hood as possible without massive amounts of labor. Meaning I wouldn't remove the engine but I'd pull as much as I could out.Go back stock. Resale! Plus it won't look so goofy when someone opens the hood, doors, etc.
I'd attempt that Ivan Stewart paint job in the garage. I think it looks great. It would raise the price of the job for sure. I think I'd have to do a clear coat over it. I bet it would look nice with linex down low and on the flares.
I recently met a guy that does custom paint, vinyl, airbrushing, etc... I'm gonna have to call him and see if we can work out a deal. I was thinking about consulting with him anyway. I think a phone call is in order.wouldnt it be cheap and easy to just get a wrap for the ivan stewart stripes?
