I have posted this in other forums but thought I would post here as well. I'm new to Lexus and this forum so please go easy on me.

I recently purchased a new to me 2013 LX570 which is somewhat of a dream car for me. One owner, 60k miles no accidents and lots and lots of service records. I like it a lot but am having trouble with the drivers seat, specifically the upper right bolster just below my shoulder blade. It feels like my upper ribs are resting against a baseball. I don't mean that literally, it's just that there is an area of the top of the side bolster that pushes into me. I don't think anything is wrong with the seat itself. I'm a pretty broad shouldered person but by no means fat and I wonder if that has anything to do with it. It was nothing that I noticed on my test ride but is very noticeable when I'm in and out of the car all day. I've done some searching and have found posts about lumbar and lower back issues but nothing about this so far. Has anyone else experienced this and if so have any ideas how to fix it? Are those bolsters spreadable? I haven't found anything in the manual about it. Thanks for reading!

Congrats on your new 570! I bought a ‘15 8 months ago and I find myself still making tweaks to my seat position. I’m a broad shoulders guy but I haven’t experienced what you’re describing. Unfortunately the bolsters aren’t moveable. You might try different variations of seat positioning, making the seat back upright or reclined combined with different pitch on the seat bottom and/or extendable leg bolster. It may not solve the exact thing you’re feeling but it may provide a more comfortable starting position overall.

Thanks for the input. I may just need to get used to it. At some point today I realized I hadn't felt or noticed the bulge in my ribs until after that point. ;) Then I couldn't get it out of my head. Great rig though!

I have taken 3 of my cars to a local car upholstery shop to have the seat cushions augmented. For very little time and money ($200-$300/seat), they were able to add or remove foam/padding as needed to help make the seat more comfortable. Basically, they remove the leather cover, make initial adjustments (shave foam or glue in additional padding), put cover back on for test sitting, repeating as necessary. It doesn't seem to take much to make a pretty big difference in long-term comfort.

Yes, a good upholstery shop will be able to contour the seat foam to your needs. They pull the cover(s), shave or shim the foam, then re-install the cover.

Is there room with the factory seats to remove foam and make the seating position lower? My only gripe about the 200 (and 100 which is worse) is my head rubs the headliner, even when the seat is adjusted to its lowest position. I strongly considered aftermarket seats just to get headroom.

I'm about 6'5"

I don't think you could get the kind of clearance you are hoping for with foam modification alone. It's possible you could modify the seat's mount. The difficulty I found when looking for an aftermarket seat was that most aftermarket seat manufacturers won't touch newer vehicles (with seat airbags) due to liability. If you find one that will, I'd love to learn more.
