Ok - had 861/862 OME installed yesterday as well as Airlift 1000 airbags.

First impression is much more solid and less bouncy, especially when going over speed bumps in parking lots. Airbags have only 10 psi so they probably aren't coming into play. Will have to wait until I pull out trailer again to get true test of those.

Truck looked awesome. I could tell immediatly that she sat higher. Took before and after measurements on rear only. Totally forgot about front as was most concerned about rear sag. Rear at the hitch and fender flares is up 1 inch. Amazing visually the difference tho.

Will have to wait until this weekend Eduardo.

Cool, same setup I'm wishing for. Excited to hear how it works with the trailer.

Brent -

Whadya do for shocks? I recently dropped in the 861/862 and found them to be a good improvement. I had replaced the shocks with LC OEM about six months earlier so I wasn't ready yet to toss those for OME or other.

Mike - I had Rancho 9000's put on a few months back. Like them. They are the 9 position adjustable shocks. I've got them set a 6. If I'd done all the work at one time I'd have probably gone with the matching OME shocks. No regret tho.

My wagon has KYB Monomax shocks front and rear. Anyone familiar with this shock, and how it would get along with the OME springs? I've got to get rid of some ass sag when loading up the back full of camping gear and coolers. A little 1" lift would be good too.

Thanks,

Where are those pics at - I'm especially interested with the bags inflated and a trailer hooked....

Tucker

Tucker - didn't get any pics this weekend. Probably won't have the trailer hooked up for awhile. We don't have another trip planned where we need the trailer until August. Do have to take it to the sign shop to get all our Eagle Scout names added to the trailer, so I may try to take before airbag and after airbag inflation pics for you. Be patient.

Come on, get with it, lets see those pics. :D

I'm looking forward to it as well. Still happy with the setup? Still at a 1 inch increase in height or has it settled a bit?

 & thanks
Jason

Jeez - ok, ok, ok. Jason, one thing to remember - the Airlift airbags do not add any lift to the vehicle. 4Wheel Performance Parts said there would probably be a little settling so I'll have to remeasure. It's been on less than a week.

I do like the ride - firmer and less wallow than a 10 year old setup, but I'd have expected that. I did 'feel' more of a noticable change in handling and ride when I replaced the shocks a few months ago than I do with the new OME springs for what that's worth.

Right- Guess I'm more interested in finding out how well the bags help with the trailer induced sag.

hehehe - So am I!

Do the airbags touch the top of the springs unpressurized? Did you need to add spacers?

The airbags don't touch the top of the springs...they're only about 1/2 to 2/3 the height of the springs.

I just put them on my truck on Friday, and inflated them to 25psi as instructed (for testing pressure). They do indeed give some lift though I'm not sure why--perhaps they push the coils apart a bit when inflated. It seemed I had about an inch of lift--as the top of my garage will attest to

Scott & Scamper - interesting follow-up to the PSI debate we had earlier. Internet instructrions do say max psi 25 which is what both Scamper and I believed. When I got the paperwork last week, it indeed does say max psi 35lbs as Scott had said. No spacers were added to my knowledge Scott.

Hmmmmm, taking the trailer to the print shop to get quote on adding eagle scout names to trailer tomorrow morning. Will inflate to 30 psi as a start and go from there.

Yes - I will take pics before and after inflation and before and after with trailer as requested. Probably won't get posted until Wed. or Thurs.

I haven't even crawled under to look at the install yet. Too much going on this past weekend. Will take pic of bags b4 inflation and after as well.

Well then the puzzle grows...my paperwork says 25psi max. Are we talking the same kit? I've got the AirLift 1000. In any case, at 25psi, I seem to be fine with my boat in tow--no sagging and feels only slightly different (stiffer) than stock suspension. I think I don't even need 25psi. I plan to work out the pressure needed to maintain the stock leveling so as not to mess up my braking when towing.

Tom

Scamper - I'll look again. Here's pic with 30 psi in the airbags. It's raised the truck another 3/4 inch.

And pics of the airbags in the coils.

And the other side.
