New member here after lurking while searching for my LC. Bought a 2016 Land Cruiser in Blizzard Pearl last week & love it. Terra interior and only 13K miles, it looks new. I'm excited to own one after admiring them for many years.

I have a couple questions on all weather floor mats (yes I've searched past threads but can't find clear answers). Mine has the nice carpet mats but I need something to protect the floor from water & sand. I will use the truck for trailering my boat, which sometimes means wet sandy feet. I live in Florida so beach trips are frequent. But I don't deal with snow, and my limited off road use is mostly camping or hunting trips, versus major mud conditions. Questions:

1.) I'm considering the Toyota OEM rubber mats, or the Weathertech mats. With either one, I see rectangular areas covering the third row seat mounts...are these removable, or must they be cut out to use the third row seats? Can they be put back in place when 3rd row is stowed?

2.) Do the OEM mats provide floor coverage for the feet of riders in the third row? (It appears the Weathertech cargo mat does)?

3.) Any advice on pro's & con's between the two? I've seen lots of preference here for the Weathertech (or the Husky), but some have said the tip on the edge of the Weathertech mats is a tripping hazard when entering the vehicle...is this something my wife or I should be concerned with?

Thanks in advance for advice!

Think the mats come down to styles that are available in the colors you want for the year of your vehicle. I had to settle for weathertech because the fully formed Husky liners weren't available for my 2008. I also found Aries made a some for a while, but had been discontinued and they didn't have the color I want. Also, if you're worried about mud/snow getting under the liner, you'll want to go the Husky route. The liner covers the false pedal and appears to possibly be a bit higher up the sides. They seem to provide better coverage. I would have gone with them if they made them for an 08.

We just bought a 2016 BP w/ terra as well, and ours came w/ OEM rubber mats. I can say our did come w/ a 3rd row rubber mat. At first I thought it was for the cargo area as that is where it was originally located, but it didn't quite fit, after about a week I put in the 3rd row and it fits perfectly, which is great as I have 4 kids and we use all the seats.

Most most of your questions are answered in the thread @mcgaskins linked above. Read the entire thread for photos and good descriptions of coverages. Couple of specifics: the front Toyota rubber mats don’t cover well so go aftermarket. The Weathertech cargo liner does require cutting of the rectangular holes to mount the 3rd row seats and the cut-out is not replaceable. The Weathertech cargo liner is also available with a clever roll-out tailgate cover I use all the time. The Weathertech front liners are not a tripping hazard because the edge on the sill is flat.

Thanks for all of the replies, this is great information. Thinking I’ll go with the weathertech mats in spite of the “dead pedal” issue. And the weathertech cargo mat with the roll out tailgate cover.

I was disappointed with the Weathertech fit in both my 100 series and my 80 series (purchased at the same time). I will go with the Husky when I wear out the toyota rubber mats on this 200.

I recently purchased OEM for my ‘17 from a Toyota dealer on Ebay. I also have Weathertechs in my Tundra. I prefer the OEM over the Weathertechs. They have a better grip and feel to them in my opinion. I prefer the OEM rubber in my wife’s 2017 Q7 due to their more substantisl heft or thickness. However, the Weathertechs are still nice mats and easier to hose down/clean.

The OEM set comes with front mats that lock in, second row, and third row. The seperately purchased rear cargo mat has cutouts for the third row and includes squares to place under the openings when the third row is up. Hope this helps.

After having the Weathertech complete set in a Tahoe, I went OEM rubber in my 2017 LC 200. They are very nice and IMHO, a better soln. The Weathertechs went all sticky and got downright nasty. I dont know what happened. I ordered the OEM Toyota rubber mats on Amazonn and I could not be happier. The 200 came wth the cargo area rubber mat and the set I ordered matched perfectly.

I’ve had weathertech floor liners in five different vehicles and other than universally not going far enough up the dead pedal, zero quality issues. No breaking down, holes worn in, peeling, tearing, always fit the OEM anchor posts/clips well.. perfect. And, they are made in the states.

I’ve worn holes in two sets of OEM all-weather VW mats. Both were manual transmissions and the wear was under the right heel.. wt in the same vehicle only got lightly polished in the same spot.

Will definitely be forming that ABS addition to my dead pedal in the 200 with WTs

Anyone have pics of the OE rubber mats in their car?

Personally I like the OEM plush carpet mats and bought a new set on ebay for $55. I use the original mats for dirty seasons/adventures as I like to drive my car barefoot or with flip flops on long trips.

I had the OEM rubber matts for my first 2 years for all 3 rows and the back. I will say overall they are the worst OEM rubber matts I have had in a vehicle.

The front ones stay in place but do do not have deep enough sides to hold water so when the snow from my shoes melts the water runs to the floor boards. Also the driver side doesn't cover enough area so I end up with gravel between the mat and door. The 2nd row ones are actually the worst. like the front arnt deep enough and Dont cover enough area. In addition they are 2 pieces so the middle rider isn't covered and they slide around. The 3 rd row one is almost useless for the same reasons and I don’t know why the oem went with 2 pieces for the cargo area and the 3rd row where the others do one big one.

The rear cargo area one is actually ok and I still have that one in my LX it covers well and fits well. Although I’ll probably get a husky since we have been using our 3rd row more.

I went to the husky (as we have a good local dealer) for the first and second row and they work well

I do like the plush carpet too. It's cheap enough to replace when they get grungy. Just that they don't cover a lot of the floor which is why I got different all whether mats. Miss the carpeting though! I sure wish there were aftermarket carpet options that have way more coverage.

My '15 came with the OEM rubber mats, and I don't think they are worth the expense. I had WeatherTechs in my '11 (and other vehicles) and they were much better. They are nice and heavy, the front seat mats stay put, but the coverage is not very good, especially on the driver's footwell. I'm sure this is from the infamous floor mat debacle they had about 8-10 years ago, so they are very shy about having them come near the pedals. Like posted above, the 2nd row mat is split in half, coverage is also not good, no "lip" like the aftermarket ones. I will be ordering a set of WeatherTechs at some point this summer.

Can't comment on the rear cargo cover, I don't have that one, and I have drawers now.

Here's a thread with Husky feedback and a few posts I made on the U-ace/maxpider product. Which I still like. It's softer feel, while still water proof.Husky Liners WeatherBeaters Installed

Does'nt hurt that they are price competitive.
