Hello! After looking for a while - and wanting for much longer - I am now a member of the LC200 owners club.
I sold my 2002 Tacoma Xtra Cab V6 4x4 manual earlier this year and missed having a Toyota. I worked at a Toyota dealership from 2003 to 2005 and fell in love with the Tacomas and the Land Cruisers - now I am working my way through having my 20-year-old-self everyday dream cars. The Tacoma I had for three and a half years and had a ton of fun with it. Big road trips, lots of DIY learning weekends, and general falling in love with a truck. But after owning it for a while, I wished for a little more comfort, and an automatic, and more space. So I sold it and starting looking for a LC100. I loved the styling and thought it would be cool to buy a 2004 because I sold a couple of those when I worked at the dealership - but then learned of the power bump of the '06 and '07. And then I learned about the cooled/ventilated seats of the 2013+. Budget held me back from the 2016+, but dang those are wicked cool.
After a couple of weeks of looking, I found a one-owner, local Texas car. Zero rusted. A little beaten up visually but I think I will enjoy not knowing if a dent or scratch is new or not. I brought it home finally this morning and spent the day running some errands. Already love this thing. My dad taught me to own a car for a little bit before making too many changes - so wheels, bumpers, suspension, racks, lifts - those I'll wait a little one. Having said that, I have been looking at the 'best accessories for under $100' and the 'what have you done to your 200 this week' threads. Let me just say that yall have some incredible looking trucks. I have already made an appointment at Xpel Austin for some UV tent and removing the factory hood PPF.
Others improvements include:
Rear seat delete (likely with seat belts out too)
Clean the ventilated seat filters
CoverCraft windshield blocker
Kaon pet panels (I don't need them but like the look)
I already have a trip planned from Austin to Port St. Joe, Florida for mid-June and a Austin to Chicago/Minnesota/Wisconsin trip planned for July.
The best part is the pup already approves.
