Just picked up a new to me LX 570 in Night fall mica. It is bone stock and I need wheels/tires, bumpers etc. I've seen lots of beautiful builds here for inspiration. One example I've seen and there may be others have much larger tires on LX 570s without a lift. I'll mostly use this for camping, fire roads some trail riding etc, no rock climbing or serious off road. I would like to avoid a lift mostly because I just got the truck and paid for the AHC so I'm a little reluctant to rip the ahc out of the truck.

I would love to see some examples of those rides that have upgraded/upsized tires without lifting their LX 570. Any tire/wheel recommendations you can share would be most appreciated.

Search sensor lift and keep the AHC. Great color btw ;).

Dark Bronze wheels would look fantastic with that color.

Either way, congrats!

Jharp, you know already I really like this build from your other purchase thread. Given this was done by Lexus and was widely covered by the press and on social media I would pretty much copy to ensure build looks and easier resale/good value of the same.

In my case I would have to increase our garage door height as a lift + taller tires + a roof rack would need a couple inches. I believe that would be worth the effort instead of leaving it in the sun all the time.

Yes! Agree 100%

A lot of folks dont realize how much heavy bumpers and such effect handling, MPGs, braking, wear, etc..

I've owned one of almost all NA available cruisers. I put swing out tire carriers on all of them.

Now that i am older, and use the rigs to camp more often, the swing outs are a thing of the past and become a royal PITA constantly having to open them to get stuff out of the back.,

I've also eaten several set of front LCAs from bumper/winch weight. Been there done that.

Current build will not have any of that, and will be a bit simpler from lessons ive learned over the last 2 decades doing this.

For each is own of course though.

Some people love to bolt on as much crap as they can to their rear bumper. Not this guy.

I may do the Slee aluminum rear NON swingout bumper mainly because my stock one was damaged when I got it

The CBI front bumper is relative KISS and light weight, main reason I like it a lot, yet provides good approach angles and in the process cuts down on the hour glass grill size...

Hmmm

Doesn’t appear on their website anymore.

Pic?

Drive it and enjoy it. Dont rush to get all the gear asap.

I did that on my 80 series. So now that I got my 570 I have learned to keep it simple. When I started gearing up my 80 I went with roof rack and RTT. Front bumper. Rear bumper.. swingout. Lift 35s etc etc etc. After adding shelves.. removing them.. adding drawers removing those.. I settled on some slee drawers I got second hand here on mUd. Went from a 80 to a 63 to 30 qt fridge. Still have the 63. I started moto camping on my Africa twin. That really got my to lighten my kit. Not quite backpacking style where you count ounces, but looking for compact lightweight items and keep bare minimum.

Now on my 570 I use all the motocamping kit. So I can have everything im the back. I have the 30qt fridge and the 63 can replace that if it is a looong trip. No roof rack. If I need to bring my Oztent or Gazelle tent because it is a bigger group I can just strap those on the roof. Awning would be nice but I am on the fence on adding weight up high and getting extra wind noise. I might add a little mesh shelf inside the back om the third row. I have one for my 80. It can be removed but allows for some vertical organization.

As far as tires, i plan on keeping it mild so that I have no need for a rear swingout. BUT i do like a rear swingout because it gives you a place for a trasharoo or other such bag...

I'm not much into drinking the overland Koolaid much now. I would rather save the money for fuel and beer so I can get out more.

Thats got the second row reserved for the dogs. All the camp gear for two people in the second row footwell. Fridge in the back with some clothes and dry food in bags. Jetboil for coffee and some water. Nice and simple.

This is me on the AT with camping gear for one. And water and stuff for making coffee abd freeze dried food.
