It needs to be relocated. Most people turn it and tuck it up under the valance. You can usually use the same bracket and bolt hole. I’ve also seen people relocate it completely to the engine bay.
Thanks do you have some pictures you can share?

Edit: I saw a few threads on here with them bending the hard lines and getting it mounted horizontal, how’s that long-term?

Was just going to send you some threads when I saw this reply. I haven't personally heard any issues from people but I believe AC driers are supposed to be vertical so it may not last as long as intended. The early 80s had the drier in the engine bay and I know some people are relocating it using those lines so that may be an option for you.

Unfortunately I don't have any photos but there's a few threads floating around of people moving the sideways or using earlier parts to relocate to the engine bay.
