Erick.

Got the lights today, first impression : very nice finish
Sturdy , made by depo ,shipped out of california.
Comes with H7 bulbs with 9006/9005 plugs for the
Factory harness , I am at work right now so I will
Keep you guys posted...
Erick.

well everything went ok , perfect fit , i ordered the hid bulbs to go in the low beam reflector because they have to be H7 style bulbs ....not 9006.

so very easy instalation , nothing special to mention other than some elevation and side beam tweaking easy with the 2 screws in the back of the housings, the top screw is for elevation.

they look great and good amount of light from those H7 bulbs (they come with the bulbs mounted)

they are an almost perfect copy of the 06/07 model but without the lower valance mod , i wonder if the 06/07 grille would fit ?

anyway here are some pics .............

That looks awesome! I may order some. I love that 1 peice look.

Let us know how the lenses hold up against road debris and chipping.

Any light output difference?

output is about the same .....of course i was using my HID's in the factory lights (after the fog light episode i did re-install them in the headlights) so it is somewhat different there is so much more light with the HID's and i can't wait to try the new lights with a H7 HID.

Looks nice! I just ordered a pair for my 98. Both of mine are cracked. Paying the duty sucked though. Anyway, any tips for protecting the new ones?

Are these not glass?

They look awesome!

they are not glass , made of the same material that the tail lights or the front factory turn signals are made of , very hard to scratch though....
Erick.

the OEM LC lights arent glass either are they? I know the LX ones are glass from 98-02 and then 03 they went to plastic

yep OEM headlights are glass ...at least on my 05, in fact i was curious to see how many vehicle headlights made of glass i could spot today on my company's parking lot and they were all plastic , including new cadillacs , i am thinking about protective film though just like those clear hood bras and mirror bras like the ones on my altima ...

loud you mentionned 3M ....i'll see what i can find.
of course the rallyes like Dakkar often use hard plastic protection for their healights but they are quite expensive.

Erick.

My 99 headlights don't appear to be glass. It is hard to tell for certain though as I have about 1/8" silicon guard on them.

Old post but.....

Are glass headlights better than the new plastic ones. And with the new ones on ebay that are for 2006 models will they fit a 2000 LC?

My glass ones barely (well,minimal...) have any pitting. I've seen plastic ones chip, and get that "foggy" look. I'd stick with glass. As for pricing. I'd think glass will be more costly upfront. But cheaper long run.
Btw, My fogs are Plastic lens, they look terrible.

Yeah, I agree. Plastic one (at least poor quality) are prone to "fog" over the years. That's what the sun does to the plastic. In glass ones, the worst (apart from cracking or pitting) is that you get a film on the inside from the plastics braking down over time. You can however wash that film out. Old Audi headlights were glass, but terribly "foggy" - until I took them off the car and literally "flushed" them.
See far too relatively many 18-wheelers with plastic headlights on the roads. Most of them are in terrible shape, and cast no light forward at all.

Although you can at least polish the plastic ones (my fogs look almost new again) the glass are certainly easier to maintain and far more resistant to wear. I've been through 3 windshields but my headlamp lenses still have almost no pitting.

The polycarbonate lenses on my Bimmer OTOH are 1/4th the age of the 100 but already look like crap. The micro-pitting is like a haze on the lenses. I will try to polish it out but I'll need to start with a heavier grit for step one. Polishing out the yellowing of polycarbonate lenses is a snap. You can get a decent kit at any autoparts store.
