No way affiliated with this business besides the fact I bought a similar set up from them last year. These totally replace the lights on the 88-90 FJ62. Way brighter than before. My kit came with a relay harness to avoid the extra heat messing with my electric system that wasn't built for these things. Very happy with the switch and very easy to swap out.

Are the housings designed for LEDs? How’s the cutoff and beam pattern?

It took a bit of searching and experimenting, but I finally found LED bulbs to use my my '80s that are no worse in terms of cutoff and pattern than the original incandesent bulbs. But that is not really anything to brag about.

There *may* be advances that I have overlooked, but from personal experience, I would not bother swapping out to LED headlights that use rear reflector faceted lens technology. Nothing I have ever found gives improved focus or cutoff. Usually far worse.

*YOU* may see better... but the people coming at you may be blinded by the uncontrolled glare you are throwing out. I have never felt safe sharing the road with blinded oncoming traffic. ;)

That said, the picture of the pattern in that add in your link does *look* acceptable. IF that is what you really get when you receive and install it. Also be aware that if you do get that pattern with the supplied lenses AND bulbs... you want to always use those exact bulbs if you ever need to replace them (in spite of all the claims LED bulbs do burn out eventually). There are countless LED bulbs out there, ever single one of them designed and assembled just a little bit different. ANY change in the positioning/orientation/size of the LED emitter will affect focus and cutoff.

Currently I am scheming and planing a multi unit projector headlight conversion in one of my '80s. Mine is a bit of a Frankenstein approach, but you can find aftermarket over the counter kits to install projectors in your '62. This will be better in the end by several orders of magnitude.

Mark...

I believe the plastic housings are designed for LED's, but I'm not an expert. Through a friend's recommendation, I found something that are basically like for like replacement of the old FJ62 5x7 square lights. Cutoff and beam pattern seem reasonable to me, but again not an expert.

I'm all for options, but for a few extra bucks you can get the Torfab kit. I highly recommend.
