Just came across this while randomly Google searching for something:

Anyone seen these or have experience with hefty? Was excited to see the Slee one upcoming and this looks like a cool option as well.

I'm not sure about their armor but I used Hefty for my lift and BMC this spring and thought they did a great job. Pricing was inline with other shops in the area as well. I'd hope that would translate to quality work with their bumpers as well.

I'm more interested in keeping an OEM look as much as possible to the GX so this type of bumper is a bit too "aggressive" for my taste. I like the Slee sliders for this reason and the Victory Blitz front bumper.

I'm still using a Hefty Fab engine skid plate (aluminum) I originally bought for my old FJ Cruiser. It was definitely better made than some of the other options like RCI, and has lasted a long time under some abuse.

Looks like it gives a good approach angle, but you'll need to cover your window washer bottle.

You'll have to make some accommodation for the washer bottle (move, or cover option if your tires aren't interfering) for any high approach angle bumper.

Wonder what the weight is

Looks like 115 lbs. raw. Not sure Powder coat adds too much. Pretty light

It says that it is compatable with parking sensors but the photos don't show anything. Seems like a prototype.
Have to use zip ties and bubble gum for your parking sensors.

Same bumper as lil b’s fab. I like it a lot.

I just wish someone would make an off-road front bumper that didn't require destroying $2k worth of OEM fascia and grill to fit. A higher clearance front bumper is the one aftermarket part I'd be real interested in adding to this truck. But I'm not destroying perfectly good parts just to fit one.

I guess there's like 4 different versions of the GX460 front bumper, though, and the one I've got was only on there for the last two years. So I'm probably screwed due to low volume.

Since it sounds like you don't want to do any deep cutting in your factory fascia, what about one of the stealth bumpers that's just along the bottom of the front end. That may transcend the entire range of GX years >2014 as long as the mounting points haven't changed. Check Victory 4x4 and look at their bumper.

With the plethora of slim/hybrid bumpers for the 4Runner it's gotta be the varying front ends of the GX that makes them not as common or popular

How would you get a high clearance bumper without doing so or just replacing the entirety of the plastics? Gx460 sounds like a horrible choice if that's what your aim is...

By replacing the entirety of the plastics. The entire front fascia, and grill, as well as the supporting brackets. Not really an uncommon thing, as far as off-road bumpers go.

There have been vendors that said they were going to do so, IIRC there even is one for the early year 460s, but the refresh changed the way the fascia interacts with the headlights and fenders, it would be an expensive part to design for the later years.

The 460 fits what I want it to be just fine, I just wish it had a bit better approach angle, or an option to fix that without going into permanent vehicle modification territory, or putting on a lift kit I neither want nor need.

Shallow or deep, once you cut into that fascia, it's ruined from a sale perspective, same with the grill. My interest here isn't in retaining a factory look, it's in retaining the factory parts so I could restore the vehicle to stock.

I get why the part I'm looking for doesn't exist. Even on the pre-14 GXs the front bumper assembly is an unusually complicated part, as off-road vehicles go. Lexus did the off road community no favors by making the front end of the GX have no parts commonality with the Prado. Is what it is, I'll live with it, knew this was an issue when I bought the truck. Doesn't keep me from wishing there was a better solution, though.

I know there are some Chinese knock-off's of Sport grills for a fair price that folks on this forum have purchased.
Getting one of those to gut up, than then save your factory grill wouldn't be too bad. I don't know how the rest of the bumper is attached on your GX since I have a 2013, but you may be able to also find front bumper knock-off for cutting with a steel bumper or front end clearance.
