Hi everyone,

My name is Steve. I recently bought a 97' cruiser. It is factory locked and I bought it lifted with an ARB and 8k lb winch. It is currently being 6BT swapped by a local mechanic friend named Micah using the DieselAdapters.com conversion kit. It should be done in the next week or two.

In my youth I had a 40 series cruiser. This is my first toy in a few decades though.

It is good to see you all use HAM as the preferred communication. I have had my technician licence for a few years and just a few weeks back I passed my General license exam. My call is KF5HBI.

I definitely would like to participate in future meet up's and trail runs. My wife and I visited Ouray earlier this month, but unfortunately I will be busy for the one I see listed there in August.

I look forward to meeting all of you on the next meet. I will try to keep posted to this section for updates when I can remember to.

Welcome I get dibs on everything :flipoff2:

Your 8K winch is about to become under capacity due to the new engine. :-)

What are you going to do with yet another 1FZ-FE? What is that? Eight in the garage?

6BT....

I have one of those. Not in my 80 however. I recommend ear plugs. :)

Welcome....

Looks like a very clean 80 - great color!

I look forward to meeting you and checking things out under the hood when your swap is complete.

Welcome to the club!

Evan

Hi all, swap is moving along. Got the torque converter back and the new bell housing last week all we are waiting for now is the wiring harness which has been shipped. I am looking forward to getting it out, and meeting you all.

Steve

What's wrong with the 1FZ?

Good engine, but I am looking for more power and better fuel economy / range. The 6BT is stripped down getting prepped to go in, with both engines out of the cruiser they look very close in size. The wiring harness is what was holding us up but it has shipped finally. looking forward to getting this done.
