Really like the looks of this rack. Would it work as a 3/4? Oh... the updated website is nice too.

Thanks! Yes can easily stick a basket on a 3/4, but you'd be committed to running the basket "up" at that point- it would hit the roof when it crossed behind the sunroof if upside down.

Love it..... You better let me run the mid-length Expo+ for a while and give you some high quality feedback. ;)

Can you mount this one either way too? Running it right side up would really give you the basket style that so many people like.

Get up here and bolt it on.. :grinpimp: and yes of course it goes the other way, when it warms up again I may pull it to do some touch-up paint, will see if I can snap a pic of it up.

I would definitely run it basket side up, and maybe even "backwards" with the enclosed end towards the rear. Actually, I think a fully enclosed basket would be ideal for me.

All can be done, the main 3 plates are symmetrical so you conceivably could run it backwards, although there's about 10" of rack currently cantilevered out up at the front, which would then hang out to the back. Your rear hatch could hit it, and if you had the wind deflector, that would definitely hit it. would kinda look like a kid with his baseball hat on backwards.. I will snap a pic of that too, when I get to taking this off again.

Now those are SWEET!

Tim,

I'm going to want to pickup 5 sets of these and a set of extension plates (the ones that lift the rack farther from the roof.) from you. Hmm, I may just have you bring them to CM. Heck, I picked up my Expo rack at Surf and Turf 2011, why not my accessories at CM 2014.

Sounds good Kirk, I will have all of this on hand- see you soon!

And thanks again for the comments on the receivers, am psyched to have a new product out. Plus it works- my awning has been off and on more times in the last 2 weeks than it was in the last 2 years.

I've had my Gamiviti rack for a few years now and have always been impressed with its simplicity and strength. So when they came out with their roof rack receivers to mount my awning I ordered a set. Two days later they showed up my doorstep. Ditched my old L brackets that were holding my ARB awning to my rack and about an hour later was done. Now, removing the awning is as easy as pulling 3 pins.

That's awesome. I wonder if that can be fitted onto my non-gamviti. Any details on mounting?

Nick check the website, I put up several pictures of the install. Basically the rack side uses bolts that are 3" apart- so if you can drill holes, or rig up some backing plate with that spacing, or use big honkin' washers, you could make these work on just about anything. You don't necessarily need the fancy slotted plates... but iirc, you've got plates that would likely work for this, maybe you could share space with one of your tower bolts?

Bob, rack's looking great man! and thanks for the endorsement, I'm glad you're happy. :grinpimp:

This question may have already been asked, but how does the rack install? Do you have to bolt into the roof? Any pics of this
Thanks

You remove the old factory rack and install "towers" into the same locations the factory rack was bolted to. Then you lay the rack up on the towers and bolt it down. That's the quick readers digest version.

Do the "towers" fill all of the holes left by the factory rack?
