New fj40 0wner checking in

Hey guys new to the forum.I'm in Puyallup,Wa recently got this 69 fj40 from my father-in-law, its been in Tuscon,Az all its life. very happy with the condition of it only found one quarter sized rust spot on the rear corner. it runs very strong, and very rich need to get the redone or a different one it has a F engine with a single barrel carb no for some pics

The soft top didn't make on the journey

started cutting off the miles of tape to find a shiny surpise

my duaghter loves her new jungle gym

thew a coat of wax on it and cleaned her up

even came equiped with black widows

its crazy how well built these rigs are considering after 40 years almost everything on the rig is original and still works.

Always fun to see the kids enjoying these things.

Congrats! great lookin rig.....

Dang, I was all prepared to come in here and tell you to go to the FJ cruisers corner....
But see you have an FJ40.
So, I suggest you learn to call it a 40, not an FJ.
There already is a car named fj, it's not a real LandCruiser though.
Can you change the title of this thread?

WEll get your official salute here on the 40 world..:flipoff2:..nice score..pto winch...full cage...nice color..happy face all around...:D

Not sure yet my nature is to make it a crawler with coil overs and a v8. But then the damn this is to nice for me to start cutting on so i'm very torn.

I'm gonna start with get that f engine to run good it has sat in the garage in tuscon since 98 so I'm trying to find a carb since the one on their is a single barrel asian and I cant seem to find any rebuild kits for it the one I ordered was for a kyser or something and nothing worked so there goes 30 bucks.

Then move onto the body fix the quater size rust spot. Line X the inside yellow and new fresh paint of yellow on the outside.build a new family cage one that goes to the back throw some rear seats in for the little one. new black soft top. and problably will redo the wireing just for s*** and giggles even though it works just fine.
I'm going to try and keep this one nice and original and use it for cruising the forest service roads. so that will keep me busy for a couple of months

Welcome!
Cool to see someone in Puyallup with a 40! I grew up in that neighborhood (I recognize that hill the delivery truck is parked on, I ran it many times in high school). But now I'm out on the East coast.
There's another Mudder here on South Hill.
Good luck with your 40 and best of luck trying to keep the pine needles out of it!!

Nice 40 welcome and enjoy

Welcome from 4WDTO--in Gig Harbor! My sis lives in Puyallup.

Hey, Welcome, and as you can see by my avatar, we're neighbors. My folks even live in Tucson !Anyways, looking forward to seeing your rig . Alex
