Hey everyone. I've waiting a few months to make this post - to see how my shaky mirror fix worked. Turns out not so well, but I think there is hope.

There is still stuff called Bondic. It's like $25 or so on Amazon. If you've been to the dentist in the past 10 years and they put that blue light in your mouth, that was a sterilized version of this. It's a glue that hardens with ultraviolet light. I took my wifes passenger mirror out and applied this stuff. It has not been shaking, but I checked it this morning and the glue separated from the original plastic. Looks to me like I need to pay more attention to the mounting surface.

So I started over. First I took the old dremel out and roughed up the mounting surface. I also drilled a few shallow holes an a right angle to the mound of glue I was going to build up. Then I placed the mirror in a vice (not tight) and started building up the glue.

You just need two hands. I placed the glue tube in my right hand and the ultraviolet light in my left. Squeeze a little out then hit it with the light. It hardens almost immediately. You just keep adding a little and hitting it with the light over and over until it builds up in one direction. Then spin the mirror 90 degrees and build up the other side until then join. I also connected the glue around the bottom thinking it probably sticks to itself better than the plastic of the mirror.

Once you get the glue as thick as the mirror plastic or until it looks solid, use the same dremel bit to open up the hole and clean it up a little (if you want - not like anyone is going to see it, but I can be OCD about such things.) Hopefully this time the bondic glue won't separate from the hard plastic of the mirror. I really hope this helps someone. I personally don't care for the ziptie method since it makes it harder to remove the mirror later. Granted, you shouldn't have to remove it again, but I just don't like that I can't.

Really,............................................................................................

Always good to see another option. Don't see a reason to doubt any ideas on here if it works for someone. Well done, hope it holds up.

Mine broke in the same spot.

I just put a few layers of duct tape on it, then poked a hole in it.

Been fine for many months.

I've been accused of over-engineering before. I'll keep doing this method. If it doesn't work and I'm about to start throwing things, I'll get some duct tape. But it's really cool how the light hardens the glue!
