I'm getting a puff of black smoke out the tailpipe when I goose the throttle from idle. Otherwise, no smoke and idling smooth. I assume the accelerator pump is dumping gas down the barrel, but is it normal to see smoke?

purrrrrrrrr

Chopped down the old holley spacer and sanded it smooth, looks like it was born that way.

Hooked up the carb (after a quick call to Marshall, 1. he picked up the phone 2. He knew the EXACT answer to my question) adjusted NOTHING and it starts in 1 second and immediately idles smoothly.

This is an engine that has not run in at least 2 years. PO had it stored outdoors in the elements (Phoenix, mind you) for at least a year and I've had it sitting indoors for 1 year +. I actually thought the engine would be louder, but it's rather quiet. . .

Great work, Trollhole!

It's not uncommon to see black smoke when you goose it. Couple of things to check are timing. You might want to advance it a few degrees.

BB at the bottom of the window? correct? that is what I remember usually on how to set it up when desomoging....

Actually was too far advanced. I painted the BB and line. My flywheel also has a large 0 and 7 in the appropriate spots. Reset the timing and if there is any smoke at all it's very hard to tell. Idling smooth at 600 RPM. Thanks!

New carb installed on the Toygoata. It works great. I didn't have to touch a thing. Thanks again.

Can't say enough good things about Marshall's carb or his customer service. Wish everything about the cruiser was this easy and fun. Thanks again,

Glad to hear. Poser had a friend in the laser business. He cut these out for me. Really nice job. I call them the elephant and the sea horse. These are some of the parts that convert the carb over to a cable carb.

Ordered another one, this one is for the '76. Thanks for a great product. The '77 Toygoata runs like a champ.

I know as crazy as this seems I'm out of stock. Everyone waited till my birthday to make a run and I sold 15 in just one day which is what I expected to sell till the new batch arrived in 6 weeks. Maybe less. Sorry for those needing one now. I'm starting a list now for the next batch. As usual those that pay first will be the first to ship. That being said you don't need to pay until the shipment gets in the US. Unless you like for me to hold your money. Lol.

Thanks again for all those people who bought a carb and will be buying one.

Yep. That being said There is another option. I have some carbs that were rejects or had a flaw in them somewhere. I either set them aside or they were returned by a customer. I can go through these carbs and sell them for a discounted price. Say $150 shipped. I probably have collected a dozen of them over the past 3 years. They will basically look and function as new. If you want to be put on this list let me know and as I have spare time I'll knock them out.

Marshal,
I need a carb. I am the customer that Noah was refering to. I can either take one of the one you have lying around or get on the waiting list. PM me on what you got or email me at du619@hotmail.com. I will pay ASAP. I have a 72 Cruiser with 1F, with a 10/71 man date.
