My temp was a little higher and big loss of power. You should be able to disconect your vac advance and cap it to run just the mechanical side if you are just putting around town. Make sure your timing is set a 7 or just a touch higher at idle with vacuum disconnected. I went with a weber 38 with a ported vacuum conection so I can easly run a vacuum dizzy. I am not by any means a carb expert so I am not going to recommend anything. Other people on this forum know alot more than me so i am sure they will chime in with recommendations.Sorry but i dont know the difference between a vacuum port and a ported vacuum. I need to rebuild or replace my carb anyways, should i just leave it as is until i can do this or will it hurt something? All im using the cruiser for right now is back and forth to work (about 8 miles a day). im not getting any backfiring at all. What carb do you have?
