Hi guys, does anyone see any reason why my new Dobinsons coil on the passenger side is hitting the metal bump stop retainer? I was getting an awful metal on metal clank over any sort of bump and just found the culprit. Thanks for the help!

^^^ ThisThey don’t look to be indexed properly, the flat end of the spring should be rotated so as to contact against a stop. The spring seat is stepped
If I rotated it 180 degrees there would be nothing for the spring to sit into... That's why I'm stumped. The flat end of the spring is in the indentation on the spring seat - I've checked all around the seat, the indentation is at the front, right where that sucker is sitting?
Can anyone confirm on their 80 that the indexed seat is at the front of the vehicle facing forward?
You need to look again! If I rotated it 180 degrees there would be nothing for the spring to sit into... That's why I'm stumped.
I'll send a picture! I am not missing the indentation. Man this is frustrating. The entire rest of the seat is flat. This is the same area on the driver's side that it hits at as well, right in front. You need to look again!
I’m not at my 80 but I remember the indentation is to the rear.
We can clearly see it’s not seated![]()
This is a shot of the right spring the one in question.Sorry but you are you made me go out and take a picture.

THANK YOU!Sorry but you are you made me go out and take a picture.
