I'm not buying into all the Bronco hype. I know us LC people are supposed to hate Jeeps and all, but I honestly believe I'd rather have a Jeep with an actual SFA than a johnny-come-lately Ford rig with IFS. When media comparisons are done between the two, the Jeep is always shod with tiny doughnut tires and the Bronco is always the unobtainable Sasquatch on 35's. IIRC the Jeep still wins on approach and departure angles. Going to 35's on the Jeep is so simple, it's not even worth discussing. Ford hasn't exactly won me over with reliability either, so in that respect, it's a tie. It will be interesting to see how the Broncos do long term in real world situations and offroad. Broncos will sell, but I can't help but think that Ford may have missed the mark. I hope I'm wrong because it will be nice to see some variety out on the trails, and Jeep surely could use some competition. I wish Toyota had a dog in the fight. Sigh........

95% of Jeep / Bronco buyers don't give a damn about any actual offroad performance. It's all about bolt ons that look good on the street and powerline road poser shots. That's why the new Bronco will sell like hotcakes. IMO it looks soooo much better than the 4dr Jeep, but opinions are like.... eh, I forget the rest.

Totally agree. If the decision to buy a Bronco is solely based on appearance, then sure. I just don’t think the Bronco really has the goods on the Jeep when it comes to actual hardware that matters off-road...at least not to the level that the media is claiming. I’d like to see a comparison between the Rubicon on 35’s and the Sasquatch. It would take a fair comparison like that to change my mind.

Order placed, onto the next step to see what timing looks like.

Early reports are the new variant, when outfitted properly is perfectly capable and on par with Jeep equivalent. Who really knows yet but seems promising. Some good KoH content the last few days, articles with 1st hand accounts comparing the two, videos, etc.

Like everyone here, I wish Toyota had an offering to fill this space. I've had nothing but Toyotas going back over 20 years (save for a Wrangler that came with my marriage and is long gone), have 6 Toyotas ATM (5 Land Cruisers) but like the new 7.3L F250 I picked up recently, without a comparable product, purchasing hands (and wallets) are being tied and pushed into other directions.

What configuration did you order? Did they give you ANY eta? I've heard it kept pushing out, but improved recently. Congrats, exciting. I too wish Toyota had a similar offering.

Can’t wait to see it in person.

Thanks man, I was already excited but have been geeking out on the KoH stuff over the past week so am now even more eager to get some time behind the wheel (even though this is going to be my wife's DD). Looks like I'll get the chance right out of the box b/c I switched my reservation to a dealer outside of Philly.

ETAs are all over the map and the dealers don't know the specifics yet - they are hoping for more clarity in the April time frame. Wading through the forums, it sounds like there are so many reservations (mine was super early) that supply won't meet demand and lots of folks will end up with MY2022 based on a number of variables, including how you option your truck. The reservations, converted orders and allocation to each dealer from Ford has lots of moving parts right now.

Saw it in person today. Plenty of space. Well thought out. Materials and fit and finish similar to jeep wrangler. 6 speed manual was a short throw. Felt good. The little tires made it feel low. Back seat had a good angle and was comfortable. Not like the original wrangler which was straight up. Drive train and suspension reminded me of a 4runner. More medium duty however probably right for the weight of the vehicle.

So the $35K Bronco can hump Poser Rock, three wheel on a tree stump and full send up Dutch John chute? Good to know my wallet is safe.

I think that one is like 47k or so. Ford printing money on this one.

I’m ready for the raptor version! limited supply and high demand = over msrp selling prices.

Yeah with ford they will give you a special version. With toyota lately you will get orange paint and a TRD pro decal.
