Not 60 specific but if you have been thinking about getting a Diehard Platinum today is the day. Just checked online and they are showing as on their quarterly sale. Group 34 is showing as $175!!!

Good price. I think I paid around $225 for mine.

Hmmmm... Maybe now is the time to go dual batteries ? :hmm:

Yeah I bought one 2 days before the sale for my wifes trailblazer ss. optima died after 7 years.

Great price... :D

Love my dual Platinums... well I haven't wired up the second platinum yet, but man that one is AWESOME! :grinpimp:

reevesci you went with a Group 65, correct? I know the dimensions are slightly different than the Group 34 that Greg is using. Did you have any issues getting it into the original battery location?

I only ask as Mama asked if I needed a new battery after the alignment shop drained my battery. :whoops: I see an opportunity for new gear that for once isn't my idea! :D

Thank you for the heads up on this Greg.

Yup I am using the 34 and Reevesci is running the 64. The 64 will fit no issues but the 34 needs a spacer under to push it up so the brace will grab.

Yup, but note that this is the online sale only. I made the mistake of driving up to get a refund for the difference today only to have the guy tell me that the website and instore prices are completely different and do not price match one another. Oh well, no bigs as it is still a great battery and worth the cost.

I seem to be somewhat in the dark here, what's the deal with the DieHard Platinums? I don't think I've ever paid more than $70 for a battery. Are they really worth the added cost?

I'll tell you in 8 years.:D

As batteries go, there as good ass it gets. Enersys mil spec, more power, better in hot/cold. and four year replacement followed by another 4 years of pro rated.

They are a grey odyssey battery, for a $100. less money.;)

Ben - take in your receipt and see if they will match. My guy said if I see it pop up for less in my local ad then they will definitely match. S#$% if I had the time/money I would return it, purchase online and pick up in store.

I have the time. Funny thing is, I brought it a printout of the online price of $197. and they gave me that price. So maybe they will match it as well.:hmm:

Just took a look, and it's back to $197.99. I guess it was a one day sale.

Yeah they usually are. One day super sale, bastards.

Lated.... I'm with you. Doesn't $85 for mine and its great. What's with the $200 give or take battery?

Srf,

The 27 I had in there is the largest battery you can wedge in the factory tray, IIRC.

My old 27 was 12.75"(L) x 6.875"(W) x 8.875"(H) 750 CCA
My new 65s are 11.8"(L) x 7.2"(W) x 7.4"(H) 930 CCA
Greg's 34 is 10.9" (L) X 6.8" (W) X 7.8" (H) 850 CCA

You don't necessarily need a height spacer for the 65.. It's about 1/2" to short for the stock tray set up, but you can get the clamp to tighten down snug without a spacer.
