I didn't want to say that that....but the guy who told me the "true" meaning of a boong bar was refering to people sleeping on the tarmac at night cause it was warmer than the regular ground...when you hit something...god forbid someone who might be living on a remote area in Oz might make that noise when struck by a roo bar....also refering to your description....kinda sick...but again I didn't want to make reference to that.
yeah eastender thats the story, heard it from alot of people too,it used to happen fro m time to time too im told, prob not real often these days.

MAF's just being flakey - I ordered a front bumper in November along with the OME suspension, they said they were out, the next batch wasn't going to be ready until January, I said that was fine, called late jan to see why I hadn't gotten it (or a call), they had no recollection of my wanting one, and apparently had gotten (and shipped out) another run in the meantime. Had no idea when more were coming, said the supplier was flakey, could be months, etc. etc.

Call ARB in Seattle.

To me even the old arbs stick out more than is necessary.

I like the new one alot. Once we get a house this along with some lift wheels and tires are going to be on my christmas list!!!

I have the old style, But I have been looking at it lately and plan on some changes for it. I am going to get rid of the valence and move the whole bumper up into it. Then since it will be moved up 4-6inches I will have to section it and make it smaller so the top of the ARB is not sticking out over the hood 4-6inches...

Approach angle will be greatly improved, I think the only hard part will be modifing the frame to make it work.

The "new" 60 series bumper looks like an 80 series almost. I am also another vote for the old style...But the new one doesnt look that bad...

P.S. the Blue Wags lookin good.

wont messing with the profile of the old bumper cause it to not have the feature of creating a "standing wave" (i guess thats how its described) in water for water crossings that supposedly helps keep the engine compartment dry during deep fords? or do you not care about that and just want it to be stout enough to push junk out of the way?

just wondering

Im not sure if this is directed towards me or the "new" ARB's styles...

Nope, it really doesnt bother me much. I normally find my self nose to nose with rocks higher than my hood and approach angle is key. If I did a lot of water crossings I may rethink it. But if the water is that deep I better be surfing:D

Called ARB today - no more "old style" bumpers left at the warehouse in Seattle. There may be a few at certain vendors, but for those of us who much prefer the old to the new, we are stuck looking for used. No blems either...

Anybody wanting to upgrade to a new one? :)

A-Ha, now I see.

I just picked up mine today and it is a new one. I have a 1" body lift so the adjustment is nice. Here is a picture of the holes on the bar. There are only two bolts on eash side to bolt the bumper to the brackets. The the instructions say to drill another hole through the bumper for the last bolt on each side? There are holes in the brackets to show you where to drill the holes for the last 2 bolts but I don't like having to drill two holes in a new bumper.

Dang spammers.

You know, I really dont know what to think about the new ARB. Its freakin' HUGE. All the angles are off whack. I WAS planning to try to buy one, but now I gotta reconsider the whole deal...Its even more difficult when I've got $4k in welding/fab equipment in the garage. I dont know if Mrs Dirty would understand.

After thinking more about it an someone please post up some additional photos of the "new" ARB bumper?
Talked with a couple guys at ARB yesterday about the design, and evidently they feel its a much improved bumper. Stronger "5 angle" design, allows more winch options, and evidently the approach angles are actually not altered significantly (according to two of thier tech's).
Dang it, I've got a new M8000 winch sitting in the garage, and a set of new PIAA lamps waiting for me to figure something out!

Just fire up that welder and start burnin' some steel! While your at it, you might as well make two, just to make sure you get it right. Then I'll come out and help you dispose of the second one. :flipoff2:
