Sweet. I need to get myself one of them.

Some other mud threads mentioned that ARB has had to redesign all bars to comply w/ new Aussie regs that prohibit bars designed to kill 'Roos and shove them under the truck.

Bars are now designed to slope back to flip animal & pedestrians up onto hood and through windshield.

It wasn't too bad to install. I had a couple friends over because they wanted to see it, but you could put it on by yourself without too much effort. It also has adjustments for 1" and 2" body lifts.

How does that work?

The old bar slid directly onto the front of the frame rail, no way to adjust anything.

Mike, your truck looks good the way it is - clean lines. I'm actually going to take off my cheesy brush guard thing for a while and run it that way to see how I like it. Might go with the 4+ bumper, but MAF is being hard to deal with on it.

Well, who cares about humans. I mean we need to increase the roos chances of survival by bouncint it into the air, off the hood and through the glass windshield, where if it survives it can kick and thrash at the guy in the truck. I'm not seeing the problem Jim.

There are two brackets that are attached to the frame with (6) 1/2" diameter bolts each. The bumper is attached to these brackets with 6 bolts total (3 per side). The bumper has extra holes drilled to allow you to move it up higher if you want/need. I believe the install directions said they correspond to 1" and 2" body lifts.

Call ARB in Seattle and see if they have any "blemishes". You can pick them up cheap. Then ask if they have ANY old bars.....

I have to say I like how the old bumper was tucked in closer to the body, the extended bumper really makes the wagon visually appear longer. I like "longer" bumpers on 40's, but on the wagons it seems to elongate them a tad too much.

New one looks pretty good.

Definitely bigger/thicker on the bottom. Misses the whole mid bar.

Naw I like my old one just fine.

People who like the old one better get off their butts and pick one up before theyre gone......

Roo Bar

I used to live in Perth in the early 90's.....they called them ( forgive my written pronuncination) "Boong Bars" cause when you hit things like a nice big red Kangaroo or other things sleeping/walkin on the road it went........BOONG!!!! ARB is better marketing name huh!

I'm curious. In what way is MAF being hard to deal with? I ask because I'm considering the the 4+ bumper.

hey eastendmedic i have to correct you on your boong bar, this isnt nice but another slang word for aboriginees used to be boongs,in relation to the bar you work the rest out.

cheers goldchaser

I didn't want to say that that....but the guy who told me the "true" meaning of a boong bar was refering to people sleeping on the tarmac at night cause it was warmer than the regular ground...when you hit something...god forbid someone who might be living on a remote area in Oz might make that noise when struck by a roo bar....also refering to your description....kinda sick...but again I didn't want to make reference to that.
