I hear you but it's built to be used man, lol. I said the same thing when I first got my 60.

Started sketching out a swing down tire/gas can carrier today. It would pivot at the bumper and attach to some rear 1/4 protection. Kind of a rear stinger lookin set up similar to my 80 but bigger to fit a larger tire and 1 or 2 gas cans. I got the inspiration form an 80 series carrier a mudder built.

Ill post up the sketches when I get a chance.

Probably wont start this project till the spring since the 60 is going to be put away for the winter any day now.

Kind of like this set up but the 1/4 protection would be permanently attached to the bumper instead of being part of the swing down.

With 1/4 protection similar to what was on it before.

Since the 60 has been put away all I can do is dream and order parts for the spring.

So far the list goes something like this:

-slcfj62's headlight wiring harness.
-Round eye headlights.
-Ruff Stuff 60/14 diff covers.
-Ruff Stuff 14 bolt pinion guard
-39.5"x17 Iroc/km2's.......
-Matching champion beadlock for spare?
-tire carrier parts from diy4x4.
-chevy 1 ton tie rods.

Thats the list so far. Havent ordered anything yet but will start soon. Man I wish I had it in the garage right now......

The wiring harness came in today and it looks like a million bucks.

Ended up changing my mind on the new headlights and ordered the Cibies from D Stern with osram bulbs. Also ordered some goodies from Ruffstuff that should be on their way.

I got around to taking a couple pictures of my proposed swing down spare tire carrier sketches. Im just brainstorming and the final product will probably be completely different but here are a couple of different versions Ive come up with.

The first rendition was a bit complex..

The second one would kind of look like the one on my 80.

The third is the simplest.

The last two designs would be adjustable to either increase rear visibility or increase departure angle by sliding the tire "basket" up and down on the main structure. The sleeved tubes would be held in place by hitch pins and the tire would be held in the basket with a ratchet strap.

First design looks the best to my eye but you are going to kill your departure angle. Move the axle back 6" and then make the bumper the first design then you'll be golden:D

Thats the reason Id like to make it adjustable and I think Id end up w more overall clearance with the 2nd and third versions. This is what the po had on it, doesnt look too low. Gonna be hard to sport a 40" tire and maintain departure...

Thanks, read your thread from start to finish dude. Love the diesel in the snow.

Another couple boxes on the front stoop, theyre the two halves of the fc protective sphere. Everything is 3/8" so I should be good to go now, just need hardware.

Debating on the color now. I was thinkin hearing aid tan maybe? Or just plain old black...

Hmmmmm.

Awesome truck

Got the 60 out of storage today. She fired right up like it was never put away. Time to start tinkering I guess, the 40's came in today.

Nice looking Cruiser. Love the dune beige with the white stripe & Toyota.

Diddled with the diff covers and pinion guard today. Ground down all the sharp edges, cleaned everything up (half assed), then primer and paint. Went with the usual graphite at first but after discussing it with a buddy I resprayed everything with duplicolor bronze instead. Figure itll go better with the whole hearing aid scheme.

Then I went all cheezeball on the rear cover and welded one of my badges to it. Evil skull painted white with bloody teeth. Yeah...... ballistic ripoff but whatever.

Custom paint booth.
