$8,500 is great in this market, take the cash and buy another one.

$Yeah... take the $8500.

If you recently serviced it, new brake pads or tires you can add in those costs too. My neighbor just got $10,000 for his $5400 mercedes from his insurance company. Good luck.

I do not have full coverage, but I opted for the comprehensive insurance. It's an extra $80/6 months but well worth the piece of mind that I will be covered if someone steals it, takes the wheels, I hit a deer, etc. It covers everything that is not considered an auto collision. With a $8,500 > KBB value > $6500 I think that that is worth it for me to have. Once the KBB value drops below $3000, i think that I'll drop down to liability.

Thanks for the wisdom from previous experiences. Photos are below. Need to get out today, and crawl around under, and see if anything is bent.

Seriously, 7 grand? Are these that expensive - body work
wise?

Seen worst fixed for less.:hhmm:

$8500? I just picked up an '06 in good condition for $4500... take the money, find another, and trick it out :D

F! rough start. take the insurance money, keep the truck and build it into a rock crawler

My money is on bent front control arms. Buy it back, pay it off (if you didnt buy it cash) and buy Slee beefy control arms, lift, bumpers, winch, sliders, etc and leave the body damage.

Begin wheeling.

Thank the VW owner.
