Hi, glad I found this place. I'm Derrick and just recently became the owner of a 1986 FJ60. It's in decent shape save for the sagging shocks. I'm a recently converted Rover owner and I'm having a blast getting to know these trucks. I hope to become part of the Land Cruiser community in the DC area.

The PO put some fugly front and rear bumpers from a late model American pickup on my 60(yeah, I know). Now I'm having the damndest time trying to source some original bumpers in the area. Do you guys have some pointers on where I should be looking? Are there vintage Toyota/Land Cruiser swap meets in the area periodically?

Thanks for your help.

Welcome Derrick

Funny you mention a swap meet, because we have one coming up in a couple months.
For your stock bumper search, that may be somewhat difficult as those frequently get damaged Wheeling or rust away because of the salt. However, there may be some gems squirreled away in someone's shed, garage, or mythical basement of cruiser parts.

Iron pig in Fredericksburg might have some usable bumpers too.

We have a regular monthly meeting next Wednesday at 730pm at killroys in Springfield of you would like to introduce yourself and cruiser in person. Details are in the sticky at the top of the forum.
Feel free to post up lots of pics.

Cheers
Sam

Fixed it for ya!

Thanks for the warm welcome, guys. I usually am working Wednesday nights but on those nights I'm free that coincide with my schedule, I definitely plan on coming out.

Also thanks for the leads on the bumpers!
