Hi Cameron,

My neighbour just picked up a '63 and is needing a few small bits. Namely tail light lenses. His tailgate is banged up as well, but could be straigtened out if no replacement can be found. Also the triangular interior lights are missing.

No rush, just getting in line if they are available.

Did your LV come with insulated, snap-on soft panels on the firewall. I saw that his has a shaped one in each footwell, I assume to kep the draft out that blows through the fire wall.

Oh yeah, there is a club meeting at the Austrian Club tonight at 7ish if you have time for it.

Kevin

Thanks, he's got dibs. And the Canadian LV's dop have the snap-on firewall insulation. My original has a decent piece, I'll see if I can get a repro made ...

Look forward to hitting a meeting one day!

Interested in Interior door pull handles, front door stop (the part that keeps the door from opening too far), Front turn signals and lower bib lights. Can't wait for the new thread to see what there that you didn't need. Good luck with the rest of the restoration. I'm excited for you.

Here are some pics of the original snap on soft panel from my rig. Does not look too hard to duplicate. I think SOR sells one?

Also, does anyone know if the roof gutters on the lv's had drainage holes (from the factory) at each of the four corners? Mine does at present - and unless they are factory they are going to be filled shortly.

Sorry, don't know if it's factory, but mine had them, too....

Yes the drain holes are factory. May not be the best design, but original.

My LPB has a stock hole in each front corner. My roof is much shorter that what you guys have.

Cameron,
I have been wondering what was happening with the old girl.
It is nice to see work is being completed.
Any idea of completion date(ish)?
Cheers
Wayne

Hey - you are right - it is the one from Ontario - Parry Sound. One family owned unit since new. I saw it on the Ottawa Cruiser club website in the 1990's and was pleased to buy it when it went up for sale in the mid-2000's!

I use to be a landcruiser hunter. Me and my buddy were at his house and looked it over. To be honest its not my cup of tea and had no interest in buying it but it was different, I remember the paint job and such. I have pictures of it somewhere here......Good to see it go to a good home.

My next landcruiser will be a fj45.......

Update - Now In Full Paint

The paint is on! If you can believe it this is pretty much the identical color that was on it (underneath the forest green tremclad coats that kept it so well preserved these many years). The underside is tinted gravel guard spray.

And The Metal Work

These are the tough parts of the metal work - it was pretty well preserved to start (except fenders) and this is most of the worst post blasting.
