Just picked up a 2006 Land Cruiser with 41,000 miles. Time to start modding it. Already removed the running boards. Just trying to decide on tires. This thing is pretty awesome.

Looks great! I have my sights on an 06' with that color myself (may consider the Thundercloud too). Where you able to find it locally, or did you have to go out of state? Low miles!

Nice rig Jeb.

Nice find!! Just upgraded to same year and color from my 2000. Loving it!

It came from CarMax, out of state. Easiest car buying experience I have ever had.

Really, hmmm, I have seen the ads but have never heard anyone using them. Do you feel like you got a fair price?

What he's trying to say is "How much did you pay for it"

We don't beat around the bush in the 100 forum. We just get after it. Web wheeling style.

I think I got a good deal. $34,000. Similarly priced ones out here had between 60,000 to 80,000 miles. It is super clean. I came from a modded Tacoma. I am already quite impressed with it.

The CarMax business model works well if you're a buyer.

But forget ever trying to sell them a car. Ever. That's where you'll find out how they make money.

The one odd thing about the Cruiser is that it has duel tailpipes coming out of the muffler. I have only seen single pipes on other Cruisers. I assume it is aftermarket. Is anyone else have a similar setup?

I am sure CarMax will make their money up on trade-ins. The salesmen even told me that I would not get a good price on the trade-in.

Post a picture, it may of been a aftermarket. Does it seem louder?

I've sold carmax 3 cars and got great deals. I've also bought 2 cars from them and got great deals. Bought a 1991 Acura NSX with around 16k miles back in 1996. Paid $28K drove it for 2 years and 14K miles and sold it to an individual for $31K. Should of kept it, since it would be worth more now with over 100K miles :)

No pressure at Carmax...one price, take it or leave it. No negotiations.
But its fun to haggle on the price sometimes.

That price is about what they go for around here. Here's one with only 22k miles for $36k. http://seattle.craigslist.org/see/ctd/3739013415.html

I think you get some other wheels and sell me those :D. Congrats on the new LC.

That Cruiser, and that lot in particular is one to simply walk away from. I went there looking at the reasonably priced GX 470's and LandCruisers, what I found was low mile (according to the odometer) rigs that were heavily worn/soiled on the inside, very very rusted frames and engine compartments and strong smells of mold. I have no idea how they have clean Carfax reports, or what the deal is there, but it seems very very fishy to have a huge lot full of high end cars with unusually low miles, and ALL of them have heavy surface rust and smell terrible ... I'm thinking flood cars possibly? Anyhow, I would proceed with caution if you are considering that one.

That looks like someone welded a dual muffler tip to the stock muffler.

I just purchased same color and year with 80,000 miles. I took the new tires off and put GY Duratracs on it and they are pretty darn nice. Check out the 285/70 r18

Nice find, I have the same year and color! (thundercloud is it?) I bought mine 4 months ago with 89k on the odo. I put on 285/65-18 BFG AT's (33's), I couldn't find that size in the GY Duratracs or I would've went that route. Only came in 295 at Discount Tire. Enjoy the rig and look forward to seeing your mods.
