Yeah, I think he's shooting to see if there is any interest at that price. For some in LA that would be pocket change but I sure couldn't see someone with that kind of money picking up an older diesel. I think it's too much at that price and agree that anything near $12K is a steal!

I will jump back in here and say that I think that dude will ABSOLUTELY get or get close to what he’s asking... Now, I hope and pray that everyone on MUD is not dumb enough to be that person... Is it worth it? I don't think so, but I'm a white, middle class, American with some sense and some mechanical knowledge. If you ask that some question to a plastic surgeon who thinks it would be a fun truck to go beat on when he goes camping once a year, he would probably say yes...
I still think the guy's profit margin is probably very high.
I have done a few engine swaps and made some money in the EXACT same way this guy is doing it and there is money to be made, believe me... He will make money on this deal...

Why in the world would he want to chrome plate the skid plate????
Just one note - the shocks are 5 speed, the truck is a four speed from what I am reading:
