Need source for Toyota diesel engines (1 Viewer)

I am in process of planing a diesel engine swap into my US FJ 60. Does anyone have a good source for toyota diesel engines and parts, specifically a 1HZ or a 1 HD T and 5 speed transmissions?

It would be for export to the USA, I have tried GS Cruisers in CA and would appreciate any more suggestions.

I would also be open to pricing out the complete job to a qualified cruiser shop

HI HZ,

Man you are everywhere on this board...yes I have been in contact with GS Cruisers and they do not have an engine, while I wait I am still searching for more info. Sheldon also gave me the name of a shop or two in BC that would do the work.

BC is a haul from Massachussets where I am currently storing my 60. The 60 was inside all winter until I decided to take it for a ride in three feet of snow last week and buried in in the stuff. Its not moving until the spring thaw. First thing before the engine swap are lockers front and rear.

Do you know anything about Blairs Engines in New Zealand? Now thats a trip.

Is the 12 HT still produced today? And if I could locate one would it be a good choice for going into a 60?

STickboy's post on his 13BT install into an FJ60 is still the best I think. A search should get it. Not as much power as the 12HT but close with better fuel mileage.

Nope. Current inline 6 diesels are the 1HZ (IDI) and the 1HD-FTE (TDI). That's why the 1HZ engine is a popular swap, because it's still a current Toyota motor, meaning parts and support for a long time to come.

it will be hard to beat the service and the backing that Greg and Sheldon supply. i have been dealing with them for a long time and neer been unsatisifed with their product or service.
sometimes there is more to look at than just the $$$$
