HI Guys.

I am on unknown ground right now.

Fixing a Hilux here.
We had new spring packs made and told them to put in an extra leaf.

This is a 99 model with independent front susp.
has the torsion bars up front

As is the ass end is way up now with the new springs installed.
We want tot bring the front up and level things out.
Started cranking the torsion bars up tighter and was lifting but my concern is how much can we crank it up?
This truck does a ruff roads all day with a paylopad most of the time.

Any help much appreciated.

Steve

The question is how far can you crank the torsion bars and still get it aligned..... I do not know the answer but you might google that info and hopefully your answer will pop up

You really can't go more than about 1-1/2" to maybe 2", then the ride will get really harsh and you'll be bouncing against the upper bump stops. You're better off doing something like ball joint spacers, then getting longer shocks.

I doubt I can find spacers here in Costa Rica.
Will ask around.

Any link on making your own?
I have access to a full machine shop.
Can buy the billet to machine out.

Here is a photo of what I am dealing with.
had one extra leaf put in the pack and sits high now.
Will drop with about 500 lbs on the bumper.
They should drop a bit, but my experience with this Company's springs is they don't sag much.
Would be nice to level this thing out if possible but looks like the spacers is the way to go.

Don't know much about this really.
I am a solid axle fan, but learning new Tec now.
Thanks for the help.

Steve
