Way to go George, and good on you Jeremy for making the effort!

Well done everyone!

Nicely done guys! been following this but had nothing useful to contribute since the 60 is out and the new pickup needed a new head this weekend.

Maybe someone can submit a story and photos for the magazine ;)

I'm really glad to belong to a club that will band together so quickly and willingly to help a guy get out of trouble. Well done all!!!

Probably less than it would cost to replace his pride and joy...

Although the fuel bill for multiple rigs responding is not going to come cheap lol. The tow bill may pale in comparison.

I would have loved to go had I not just got back tonight, glad it turned out.

Had a good drive up to Pemberton and back, the drive back was especially nice with the Lightforce 240's on and the moon lighting our way. All told 400kms and $100 in gas.

I almost fell over when Brad told me it had only taken him 14L to travel the same distance it took me 40L to travel. :frown: One more motivator to get the Diesel swap done.

Good Job George for getting him out on your own, we where all a bit worried about the solo attempt when we met in Pemberton.

First of all.... I would like to send out a HUGE thanks to the group (as does my family), and especially to George, Jeremy, Scott and Brad. You all lent a hand to a person that you have never met (or only met once before), when you did not have to. It makes me especially proud to be part of this community. I will not forget this, and I ask that all you guys can be at the next meeting so I can thank you personally and better yet... repay you! I owe you all the gas you used.. and at minimum a bunch of beers!

George is a trooper! Comes up, shovels what felt and looked like 2 tons of snow away, and towed me out! I really wish I had taken photos. The day was sunny and everything. If I had taken two seconds to think about where I was, it was a very nice spot to get stuck in. Exact Location of where I was stuck :
49°41'23.48"N 122° 7'22.08"W (give or take a meter or two).. just before the crossing of Tretheway Creek (or just up from the slide).
But suffice to say, was too busy digging to think about it. Man it was nice to see my rig again! Who really thought you could get this attached to a vehicle!

As for the towing company that didn't make good on their assurances... well... that's in the past! And forgotten! What a waste of 11 hours!

Also... I'd like to change this website to "ih8snow.com". but in all fairness... being more prepared would have been better! Also... going with more LC owners would have been good. My buddy with his Jeep was just too lite. Rocks are good, Snow is bad! haha. There are all sorts of things that I have learned from this experience. Worst case scenario, if I had to be stuck, I at least planned for enough food, water and clothing. Didn't really think about the bears or cougar's though.

Anyways... again. A huge thanks to all. Cheers, and hope to see you on the trails (just maybe in April or May when the snow is gone???)

Glad that everything turned out for the better… cheers to those that helped out…

So what exactly went wrong? I gather that you weren't travelling alone, which explains how you got out to get help… In terms of getting stuck – was a bad decision made, was the LC not well equipped enough for the snow, not enough recovery gear?

Ya.. Snow just got too thick where we were. Was about 2 to 2.5 feet deep... And I was really just acting as a snow plow at that point more than anything. We weren't prepared enough for snow. I've been winched by my friend before (jeep buddy) up some rocks, and it wasn't a problem. But this time we even used a snatch block, and I just did not budge. I had chains, just no shovels (main point). And really no prior experience in the snow. As I said before.. Lots learned. It was just that yota was doing so good up until that point we really thought we were going to make it through.

Man Brian no ones going to help you man ,no pictures ,no stories ,not even a vissuall . Cheez well I would but I don't feel like writing it again ,dam computer went to post a long winded juicy recap of the day took me an hour plus to write it and comes up I'm not logged in and its all gone .so get to it man hassle getting cable just about having to turn around cause of trees crap show right out of the gate where you and the tow truck guy spent ten hours within a hundred yards how the snow was like welded to you truck how the snow freezing elevation drive ability could be pin pointed to the foot and saw the change rise in the few hours let alone from one side of the hill to the other (i figure there was a 50foot difference one side of the hill to the other due to wind chill and tree cover, geez i figure two more hours and we would have been sunk let alone be able to turn around at the top not a hope in hell we could have backed out of there that for sure .and how you never doubted me once ,ha lol.

Sure'n hell sounds like a good story, but we need a wrongwayaround 'translator' - anyone got one ? LOL

Glenn, you have to read it fast, imagine George telling the story and it's all good. George writes like the English language should have been.

I tried, did not work. I usually have no problem deciphering poor written word but man! Im not one to criticize I have tearable spelling and grammar.

I find it helps to have a few shots of malt liquor.

No pictures? Enigma's gonna be pissed...

Kudos to George, Jeremy, Scott and Brad. Hey that is the Legendary Lynn Valley George always willing to help. JOB WELL DONE.
