:bounce: hi...........I have a 79 fj40 and I was wundering if anyone would be able to tell me what a fan mounted on the drivers side, in the engine compartment next to the vent is and what it does. it looks like it would be blowing the air on the master cylander. I pressed all buttens on the inside and it did nothing. i was wundering if it might be there if something starts to over heat. but I am not shure. so if i could get any advice on what it could be. That would be great.

thank you
sean

You'd get more responses if this were in the "Cruiser Tech" area of the Forum. PM the moderator and ask him to move it.

The fan in question is the carb cooling fan...

Ya, Cruiser section. Oh, it's a cooling fan for the carburator. Keeps the thing from vapor locking. It's temperature switch activated.
