my suburban garage is okay for working in but I need parts storage at the absolute min price and ease of assembly, I am renting for now so do not want to lay out for perm structures and with a frame up rebuild on my harley and FJ build at the same time I am scratching for project money that cant go on a shed.

so far either a framing kit---con too much assembly or a family sized camping tent seem to be a good option--just dont want my parts ruined by sitting outside

any suggestions out there?

I am in florida so rain/heat/humidity is really the only issue

gotta get creative...

How much room do you need? how often do you need to access them? Got any buddies that you can rent some space from? How about buying a small enclosed trailer?

here's the one that always worked for me:

buy another cruiser and just store stuff inside of it :grinpimp:

I bought a 24' temporary shelter from Shelter King for something like $725 about four years ago for the stuff that didn't rank high enough for garage space. There are lots of other brands and sizes out there. The first top lasted two years before tearing. They sold me a replacement for a little under $200. They told me they since changed material and to expect about 4 years in my area (northern New England). Two years later the thing is doing quite well (two feet of snow on top right now). When this top goes I am thinking of skinning it with metal roofing panels. It has a pretty heavy galvanized frame with duckbill anchors at each upright to hold it down in high winds. Condensation can be a problem when its really humid but in hindsite I think it would have helped to put a vapor barrier under it. I cut vents in either end and that seemed to help. All in all I've been really happy with it, and its certainly cheaper than a building. I can say from experience a camping tent will last less than a year when out in the elements all the time.

ideas

Thanks for the ideas any more? wnat low budget cause I am renting and broke from my projects already plus if I buy a trailer, big shed, I will not be able to take it to the UK in a year or so when I move back over there for 5 yrs. This is really only temporary and mainly for FJ parts to keep the weather off for a couple months

I like the second FJ idea cept it will be a BJ40 next time but I don't think that would fly with the ol lady.

What kills me is I have a barn at my place in the UK!

thanks!

How about a cheap metal shed or one of those huge plastic "deck boxes"?

My dad actually took down his prized Sears metal shed and moved it twice when the family had to PCS in the military.

storage

love those plastic "tote" boxes I have a load of them but it's bigger items I have like lawn mower bike etc FJ fenders and doors etc

The metal sheds go cheap and that may be the best answer but no dis to dad but I don't like em

but for practicality and cheap they are looking good

I know about PCSing--That's why I am not going to build a proper shed!:hhmm:

appreciate the suggestions I've got to do something soon
