I have that same $20 HF unit nowa, haven't needed it yet thankfully.

It's (the High-Lift) is good for cracking Alvin in the chin occasionally... But that was a long time ago.

I think he stays out-of-reach of the handle now!

my hi-lift has done almost nothing for me in 10 years except RATTLE which it does exceptionally well and incessantly, really

I loaned it to other trucks occasionally for extrication, and used it maybe 3 times on my own truck - I really only carry it because the TLCA requires it for Cruise Moab

That TCLA requirement may explain justifiably why they are so prevalent in the 4x4 world.
