Good stuff Meatball. Disasters like this suck, no 2 ways about it. But seeing communities come together to overcome feels like such a healing thing. The fact you flew across the country and dropped everything else in your life to help friends in need, says a lot about the your fabric bud - really impressed, not at all surprised.

Thanks for the kind words. It’s been an exhausting last few days. All the dry wall is 98% cut out, nails and screws removed from studs, and floors swept and vacuumed.

FEMA only told them they would get like $11k so they are going to half to find financing options.

The community has been awesome!! People bringing meals, water and supplies by everyday. Even the mayor is out checking on people. It’s nice to see a community come together.

I left NC yesterday, currently in Connecticut. The Ohli’s are decent shape considering. All drowsy, insulation and flooring is removed. Granite counter tops have been framed out and can be used while rebuilding occurs.

We plugged the washer and dryer in and so far everything works. Same with the fridge. The oven and dishesher we’re toast and tossed.

Thanks for the donations everyone, between your generosity, a few friends and my mom I was able to give them $700 cash to help with rebuilding. Thank you

Another update??? How are they doing compared to their neighbors at this point?
