My friends who live in Havelock their house flooded. I will be going to help with removing carpet, furniture and drywall. They do not have flood insurance.

I'm looking into flying into RDU on Wednesday. Does anyone have a vehicle truck or cruiser I can borrow for a week? I can rent a vehicle but I would rather spend the money on supplies.

I'm not looking for handouts, just some help. Some of you know Jacob and Amanda Ohlehsalen. Any thoughts ideas are always welcome. Or if anyone wants to get dirty!!

I can donate some $$ to the cause.

I can donate some $$ to the cause.

thanks bro!!! Booking a flight now into RDU for Wednesday. Plan is to get into town, pickup supplies and head to Havelock on Thursday!!

Can anyone provide information on roads and river flooding?

I appreciate any assitance.

Glad to also donate $$ toward supplies or whatever! Planned on doing some anyway, would love it go direct to someone we know in need.

Looking for a vehicle to borrow or rent.

I arrivein RDU Wednesday evening and will head to the coast on Thursday.

I appreciate the $$ offers @GLTHFJ60 @weejub

Currently in need of:

Fans
Trash Bags
Plastic Totes
Gas cans and gas (I can return the cans)
Box cutters and blades to cut drywall
Bleach and other cleaning supplies
Scrub brushs

I can get you some of that stuff. Hit me up when you land.

If you were coming closer I'd say I would run you to Sams and we could load up some stuff. I'm sure there are some Raleigh peeps with a Sams/Costco membership that would do the same. Regardless, be glad to help out. I'll be spending some weekends there soon volunteering.

If you want, you could use one of my 80s. May not be terribly convenient logistics wise, I’m near Siler City.

Kind of you to offer your 80; I'll offer to shuttle from airport to Adam's near Siler City if you want to take this option.

I drove Hwy 70 from Kinston to I40 and it was completely open. Heavy traffic towards the coast and gas stations were slammed, so plan accordingly. It looks like it is open past Kinston to Havelock too and will lose a lot of that traffic as they head down 258.

Loaded up and heading towards the beach. Thanks to those who donated!!!

So water came up to the driver vent and went in? :(

You guys have to cut all the drywall out up to the water level?

Good work, Adam!

Seems like slab-on-grade construction is an advantage in flood areas. Don't have anything below the sill plate to deal with.

Sucks, but keep at it bro.

I think it would be an advantage vs a crawl space IF the water was above the floor - if below, would be nice to be higher up and to simply clean out your crawl space.

Good stuff Meatball. Disasters like this suck, no 2 ways about it. But seeing communities come together to overcome feels like such a healing thing. The fact you flew across the country and dropped everything else in your life to help friends in need, says a lot about the your fabric bud - really impressed, not at all surprised.
