'07 LC100. First, I have researched the forum to try to find my answer. I think I have it but would like some input. I have a whining noise that gets louder/quieter with the increase/decrease of rpm's. Also, if I turn off the A/C the noise goes away. I'm thinking this is coming from the alternator. Sound correct? Any help is appreciated.

remove the serpentine belt and check/spin individual and see if 1 of them is the issue
start rig without belt and see if noise is still there

I would be looking at the tensioner bearings and the AC compressor. Like 3 puppies says, belt off and dig into the bearings.

Make sure wife/ significant other is far from the test site. Takes another factor out of the equation :flipoff2:

The whining in my LX drops significantly when my kids get out of it....

But like is stated above, taking off the belt and checking the pulleys could be another route.
