Just did a transfer case and Automatic Overhaul Everything goes good until I put them back in.
First time I fought it a bit to get the last 1/4" but it went in. I couldn't turn the engine over by hand to hook up the converter bolts. I pulled it back out to make sure things were ok. I can spin the converter while is on the trans, I can spin the engine when it's not linked. I put the converter into the pilot to make sure it was the right size and fit and spun well.
I checked the clearance on the converter body and case ,it was fine.
I put it back in , it went easier this time and didn't have to fight the last bit . I still cant turn the engine over by hand. I even put the starter back in and tried to turn it over with it. no go I just get a locked up starter. It's even up on the cross member.
Any ideas?
And yes its in Nuetral

can you turn the engine over without the trans in place?
is the torque convertor all the way into the trans on the input shaft.
did you swap anything else? I was thinking some year flexplate only worked with that year torque convertor on 62 series. can't remember who said that but it was years ago.
