Happy new yr all.

Looking for a solution to increase FM clarity and range.

Reception is decent, but does not do justice to Mark Levinson. It's difficult listening to Jack Johnson with static.

Would this sort of Mod be possible to the FM system?
Mod: Extending range of keyless entry
The keyless entry mod is about relocating the antenna to a better location.

Our FM antennas are already in optimal locations: There's one on the front fender of course, and one built into the right rear vent window. What our radios do with the FM signals after the antennas receive them is out of our control.

I also have crappy reception and have considered adding an antenna booster like this: https://www.amazon.com/Proster-ANT-...621841&sr=8-1&keywords=fm+car+antenna+booster

Has anyone used one of these?

Great find, however… the reviews on all products that do something similar are abysmal.

Not sure if it would be worth pulling out the head unit again?

I installed the Bluetooth adapter which I’m using majority of the time right now. But it would be nice to have a little bit clearer FM signal.

100-series Bluetooth/stereo aftermarket options

That BT mod is 100% worth the money and then some.

I've long noticed my FM reception isn't nearly as strong as my older BMW or wife's newer Subaru. I thought something was wrong with it, but it's looking like it's a common problem.

There was mention in an unknown thread about the antenna to sound system connection being knocked loose during dashboard work. Most rigs have had work due to airbag recall. I would check there first. Note I have similar issues:bang:

My radio reception is also crap. My antenna works. I have not pulled the dash. I am really hoping it’s just a loose wire but doubtful.

I love my truck but I would honestly buy a new one just for a decent radio.

Honest question, not intended to be sarcastic...

But, why? Radio is so easily eclipsed in every manner by just installing a streaming or connected receiver. The first thing I ever do when I buy any vehicle is to install a bluetooth compatible head unit just so I never have to use the radio. If I'm ever out of coverage for streaming, I can just play whatever music I want from my device. I've never once found myself wishing my radio worked. Or even used it...

Because I got the computer head up display from 2007 that’s super lame that I have no idea how to replace.

I honestly need help with my truck for the stupid stuff.

Shocks Done. Torsion bars done. Diff drop Done. Tires can’t decide Radio reception no idea how to improve. Subwoofer repair. No idea.

I’ve read peoples write ups but I’m not an Audio I need help

Look up the BTOY 45 by USA Spec. I think it's even in the FAQs. It'll use your OEM system and turn it into a fully functional bluetooth receiver. Like $120, takes 15 minutes to install. Nobody would ever know it was in the car.

I find the radio reception and overall sound quality in my 99 LC is pretty subpar in general. I don't really listen to music much so I am not that concerned about it that often, but I have thought of upgrading the speakers and head unit.

I am going to get the btoy but what do you recommend doing for radio reception. I still like listening to radio for local driving

I have a grom, but it same thing as the Btoy. local radio?- stream iheartradio you may or may not get the station you like.

because us old farts hate tech and refuse to update and buy expensive data plans so we can pay to listen to music that is free over the air or pay for music downloads when what we want to hear is free over the air.
