2003-2012 Lexus/Toyota /Scion USB Input | VAIS Technology

I used to have a BT45 in my 05 LX which worked fine, but replaced it with the Vais MML. The sound quality is a step up and it will play FLAC and WAV files up to 24/96 from a thumb drive or phone/tablet. I replaced the cigarette lighter with a usb input and use my phone as a music source. Works great and charges my phone while playing tunes.

When you say the sound quality was a step up, are you comparing aux or Bluetooth quality?

Short write up of Bt45-toy from Amazon for $133.

Very easy. Only programming required was to turn off the annoying voice prompts.
30 min install time.
Plug and play out of the box.
Was able to maintain full function of the six CD changer.

*Opted for the supplied microphone which was super clear when making calls and for Siri.

*Mounted the microphone right below the temperature gage wiring was very simple. The actual unit was placed above the vent in the dash.

*I’m able to get all the podcast data, Pandora data, music data & phone numbers

So far so good.

Thanks to all who provided input on this! I ended up installing the BT-TOY45 and am quite pleased with it. Seamless bluetooth which for me was to play Pandora, Spotify, etc., without an aux cord (which was archaic), is now ideal. Like a few others on here the only negative is that the telephone volume level is MUCH lower than the music volume, so if you take a call while listening to music you have to turn it way up in order to communicate... then of course, turn it down again or the music volume will be too loud. At any rate, good call on this item and brought my 2007 to a more modern state. Well, except for the cassette deck that remains a fixture!

Nice job!
I see the microphone. Was it necessary to drill a hole or does the wiring fit through a gap?
Thanks,
Dave

No drilling, there is a little horizontal trim piece that’s right below the gauge cluster that comes off with very little effort. Microphone slides right through to the audio deck.

Dan Carlin FTW!

Check out Dr. Death. It was literally brutal!

put this in my 80, super happy with it. i can even take calls on it while im driving a 25yo rig. technology win.

they even send the adapters you need. just do a little research and see if theres a factory amp you need to disconnect first.

I had this installed recently. I’m still working out a couple of bugs with the supplier. It streams music nicely from my iPhone and the Bluetooth connects fast as well. Hope to get the bugs out then I’ll recommend it. It’s not exactly a plug and play. You need to remove a few circuit boards from the original system and put them in to the provided boxes that come with the system and integrate the boxes in to the rear portion of the Android.

I like it but it’s not perfect yet.

I'm using this one for Bluetooth audio to 2001 LX470, I'm very happy with this and I will most likely not get a double din since with my phone and this FM transmitter I get good audio quality and use my phone for Waze/Maps.

I was looking into double dins and I'd be looking at 1k for install, double din, special wire harness. I'm happy with this $25 dollar solution for audio and a phone car mount to use my waze.

It also has QC 3.0 built in for fast charging your phone.

Nullaxy is the premier brand for FM Transmitters, even though it is china made they offer great warranty and support. I would trust the Anker as well that was previously mentioned, I just wanted QC 3.0 for charging my phone so chose nullaxy.

Another great thing is that the LX470 doesn't continue using power for the DC adapter so you don't need to manually switch this off/on, it automatically turn on and connects to your phone and if you leave it in the same FM stations for broadcast everything happens instant.
ordered it, thanks, I see the good reviews on it.

This is my ideal setup in terms of looks. Please keep us updated on how it goes. So tired of my factory unit...

Have you used the hotspot/wifi feature? I link it to my phone and use the built in apps like espn, pandora, youtube, etc.

The direct usb connection does not want to work with my iphone for some reason. Does yours happen to work?

What input on the back of the nav unit do you use? I pulled mine out and there are no empty sockets.
There isn't an empty socket. The factory plug gets disconnected from the back of the radio and plugged into the harness. The plug from the harness gets plugged into the back of the radio then. You dont have what year or LC/LX in your profile. that would help.

Look at page 7 of the install manual.
