Hi,
My old and trusty HJ60 is missing very badly today. Totally stock Canadian spec. Lots of blue smoke that smells like unburnt diesel. Didn't get better after letting it run (been having some glow plug timer issues).
My DIY compression gauge is back in Ontario. Hoping that someone local has a compression gauge that I could borrow. I'm hoping it is a stuck injector or something. Reason I 'm suspecting (hoping) the injectors is that I replaced the nozzles about 6K km ago. Replaced with German Monark. Was running OK two days ago. Filled up with diesel a week ago at my local Shell station so not suspecting that (yet).
I have a spare set of injector bodies with me. No nozzles. May need to find injector shop that can sort things out if necessary.
Thanks,
Mike Ayukawa

I'm on the island but up in Ladysmith. I'm not an engine mechanic. My first instinct would be fuel filter too.
Certainly sounds like a fuel problem. There is a Vancouver Island Club page. Majority live in Victoria area,
so I'm going to publish a current list of businesses the guys put up within the last two weeks. If you start
a 'Help' thread there I expect someone right there might be around to help you out.

I do have a spare fuel filter ... hmm. Maybe will first try draining the fuel separator. Both easy and cheap so a good place to start!

Should give good indication as to fuel condition in the system.

My first check would be for air in the fuel lines...crack the nut on the line of each injector and see if they bubble.

Thanks for the words Jeff!
Check your delivery valves for leakage....wetness along the top of injection pump.

Diaphram in your diesel pump. Mine looked like that going up sea to sky had a tiny pin hole in the diaphram, like 15 dollars and an hour later. ran like a top. It's a bitch to het out and install if it's a 3B

So did you get this fixed? Kind of curious as to the solution you found.
