So after checking the wires I'm pretty sure its 12 gauge. The 3.7mm number is the insulation. which is not include when measuring gauge

Yeah I had a terrible time even trying to find these lugs. Let alone a crimper suggestion from the mfg.
For the h4 bulb connection the connector measure .31" or 7.8mm doesn't seem to very common in the US.
Ill look into that crimper. You don't have a link do you?
I don't know which die set you need, but this will give you an idea of their cost.

Edit: that didn't seem to link to the right page.
You'll have to copy & paste it

There are affordable options here:

But not sure if any of these would be a better fit than what you already have.

Not to be insulting, but are you orienting the crimp in the jaws correctly? Also, the cast jawed crimpers seem to do a craptastic job compared to the high dollar EDM cut jaws. There tends to be too much slop in the cast jaws.

I think the tool you have will give an acceptable crimp if you use the correct size wire with the terminals.

No insults taken. I'm a rookie at these things. I'm fairly certain I have them oriented the right way. There is really only one way they can go that puts the smaller section on the wire and the larger section on the insulation. It feels like exactly what you are saying. There is just slop in it. No bite. just need like another notch in the ratchet or 2 to make a firm hold on the actual wire. I can order some sockets that already have the wire installed. But Id also like to figure out how to do it right myself.

Where doe "3.5mm/0.14 wire" fall on the chart I posted?
14AWG makes sense based on your picture of the 12AWG crimped in the terminal. The 12AWG is too big as already mentioned.

As there were no instructions on these amazon crimpers. I found another set with instructions online. There is an adjustment for crimping pressure.

I'll let you know how it goes when I get some more terminals. But think this is it.

The dial is to adjust the handle force. It is only used to assure the dies close completely.

Yup and that was the issue I was having. Also seems like this forged tool doesn't quite fit together the way it should. Tolerances are a bit off, but the additional force helps
Open Barrel Crimp tools is the link to the tool I found the info on. There is also a link there about crimping.

I tried it on a couple of previously crimped wires and it seems good. I will start with fresh ends and replace all the terminals once the new ones arrive.

Thanks for your link Ill take any help or instruction I can. But I'm feeling much more confidant already.
