Hi LJ
I actually finished your bumper yesterday. *I put it on a pallet today and
it is ready to ship to you. *Where am I shipping it? *Let me know and I will
get it set up. *I expect to finish up with the other bumpers by the
beginning of next week and get them to the powder coater. *Please let me
know if you have any other questions and I will talk to you soon.
Thanks
Mike Smith

LJ, how about an license plate LED kit for these bumpers..
When this arrives, I will be welding up the mega duty spindles i bought and begin the custom dual swing out build. It will be the biggest welding project I have taken on so far, slowly but surely! This ships out today according to mike!
Good thing mike cut the holes out for the spindles! I will have a tire carrier with receivers I can I add a bike carrier like davegonz or add a cooler carrier. The other swing out will be a gas can holder and will also have a receiver incorporated. I will save about $600 by doing this part myself

He sent one with mine, along with a bottle opener.....Mike needs to make some decals. I'd sport one to help him advertise a bit.
for others... I can run my Thule bike carrier with Mike's tire carrier installed and my spare 295 hanging there. It just barely fits. But no extensions needed to use it. However,..... you have to completely remove it to open the swing outs when gaining access to the back.

That would be awesome. Hopefully my pallet has some extra goodies!

I feel jealous of all you guys who had the money to go full option on this bumper!
Now I need to add up all the other costs
Latch assemblies(2000lb capacity)=$50.10/pair
Heavy duty spindles and sleeves(2000 lb capacity)=$150/pair
Locking pins to act as safety to keep bumper closed and fully open(4000lb capacity)=$24.64 for 4 pieces
Scrap metal, hardware and other tubing for swingarm assembly, tire carrier, gas can basket, , antenna mount, hi lift jack mount and recievers in each swingout to allow accessory interchange is approximately $270
I will learn how to weld just for this project...and utilize my CAD skills to get the parts cut via laser/waterjet at my friend's shop
So figure another $500 or so to add the components that I want. Hope this project turns out "fun", in the end my total bumper cost will be about $1300-$1400 shipped to my door with all the options that I want![]()

Good luck with all that... I'm not seeing the savings you think you will be getting in the end... By the time you deal with all the time and materials needed to do what you are talking about you will likely end up paying more than you could've ordered this stuff for from Mike. Also if you are learning to weld I wouldn't recommend starting with something like this. To each his own tho I guess. If I were you I'd save your money and order the other things you need from Mike later on when you can afford them. A local fabricator might save you a few bucks but there is a big difference between a person who fabricates and welds for a living and someone who has never welded tackling something like this. Maybe you have friends or friends of friends that can help you but again are you really saving yourself money in the end? My 2 cents... Good luck...
